High above the water, a series of obstacles, crossings and balance challenges await on this exciting outdoor adventure. Designed for anyone who enjoys testing themselves, the Aqua Climb combines climbing, agility and plenty of laughs as you make your way around the course while trying to avoid an unexpected splash.
Following check-in and equipment fitting, you'll take part in a safety briefing before heading out onto the course. Helmets, buoyancy aids and wetsuits are provided, allowing you to focus on the challenge ahead while qualified staff oversee the activity.
Stretching above the lake, the Aqua Climb features a variety of elevated elements designed to test balance, movement and confidence. Suspended crossings, swinging sections and climbing features require concentration and coordination as you work your way around the course. Some obstacles are straightforward, while others become surprisingly challenging once you're above the water.
Should you lose your footing, you'll find yourself making a splash before climbing back on and continuing the adventure. The combination of physical challenge, friendly competition and constant action makes every lap around the course slightly different from the last.
Set within a purpose-built watersports lake in St Osyth, the activity takes place in a spacious outdoor environment that is well suited to families, groups and visitors looking for something different to do in Essex. The lakeside setting creates a fun atmosphere throughout the season, with plenty happening both on and off the water.
Away from the activity area, guests can make use of free parking, on-site lockers and a café serving food, snacks and drinks. A large viewing deck overlooks the lake, allowing spectators to watch the action while enjoying the surroundings.
Before taking part, all participants must be at least 8 years old, measure a minimum of 1.2 metres in height and weigh less than 120kg. Confidence in the water is essential, as everyone must be capable of swimming approximately 25 metres unaided and comfortable jumping into the lake.
For safety reasons, closed-toe shoes with a hard sole are mandatory throughout the activity. Jewellery and piercings must also be removed before entering the water. Participants aged under 18 must have a responsible adult remaining on site during the session.
Unlike a traditional climbing wall or inflatable course, this experience combines elevated obstacles, water crossings and balance challenges in one activity. The result is an adventure that rewards determination, coordination and a willingness to get wet.
Alongside professional supervision and quality equipment, visitors have access to a range of additional activities around the lake. Many guests choose to combine their Aqua Climb session with other watersports to create a full day out in Essex.
Yes. All participants must be able to swim at least 25 metres unaided and feel comfortable entering deep water. While buoyancy aids are provided and must be worn throughout the activity, participants may fall into the lake while completing obstacles.
After entering the water, you'll need to swim short distances and climb back onto the course independently. Lifeguards supervise all sessions and may refuse participation if they feel someone cannot safely meet the swimming requirements.
Participants should wear swimwear underneath their wetsuit and bring a towel and change of clothes for after the activity. Clothing that you don't mind getting wet is recommended, particularly during warmer periods when some guests choose not to wear a wetsuit.
Unlike the Aqua Park, footwear is mandatory on the Aqua Climb. Participants must wear closed-toe, hard-soled shoes such as trainers or suitable water shoes. Flip-flops, sandals and Crocs are not permitted on the course.
Yes. All participants receive a buoyancy aid, helmet and wetsuit as part of their booking. The equipment is provided during check-in and fitted before the activity begins.
For safety reasons, the supplied buoyancy aids and helmets must be worn throughout the session. Wetsuits are optional in warmer conditions but may become mandatory during colder periods depending on water temperatures.
The course is designed to be challenging enough to keep participants engaged while remaining accessible to beginners with a reasonable level of confidence around water. Obstacles focus on balance, coordination and movement rather than strength alone.
Some sections may feel more challenging than others, particularly for those who are new to climbing or elevated obstacles. Participants are encouraged to take their time and tackle each challenge at a pace that feels comfortable.
Yes. Children aged 8 and above can participate provided they meet the minimum height requirement of 1.2 metres and the swimming requirements.
Anyone under the age of 18 must have a responsible adult remain on site throughout the session. This allows younger participants to enjoy the activity while ensuring support is available if needed.
