Step away from screens and reconnect with what matters most during this 7-day sailing retreat around Mallorca. Life on board the Perseus XXI invites you to slow down, rediscover simplicity, and experience the beauty of living at sea. Together with a welcoming family crew, you’ll share moments of connection and reflection while exploring the Mediterranean’s most scenic coastline.
Day 1 – Palma to East Coast Coves
Depart Palma in the morning and feel the gentle motion of the sea as the day begins. Head to a secluded east coast cove where swimming, snorkelling, and paddleboarding await. Try your hand at fishing from the deck, and enjoy your catch for lunch. In the evening, anchor in a calm cove and take in the sunset from the deck.
Day 2 – East Coast to Cala Ratjada Area
Travel north along quiet stretches of coastline, exploring hidden coves along the way. Spend the day on the water with SUP or snorkelling, or simply relax on deck. Captain Ángel will guide you through basic sailing techniques, offering hands-on experience in handling the boat. Evenings are spent anchored in a peaceful spot, perfect for unwinding and sharing stories.
Day 3 – Cala Ratjada to Capdepera / Artà Area
Begin the morning with a gentle cruise to a quiet cove. Enjoy water activities or explore nature along the shore. Children can play freely on deck or in the water while adults take a moment for reflection or guided conversations with Yoli. Evening anchoring provides a chance to enjoy stargazing and a meal under the open sky.
Day 4 – North Coast to Formentor Peninsula
Make your way along Mallorca’s scenic northern coast, taking in the views and fresh sea air. Try paddleboarding, snorkelling, or fishing once more. As night falls, anchor in a calm bay and learn to navigate by the stars, deepening your connection to the rhythms of the night sky.
Day 5 – North to Alcúdia / Playa de Muro
Spend the morning exploring quiet northern coves, enjoying paddleboarding, snorkelling, and peaceful moments on deck. Stop at a local market to gather fresh ingredients for meals, all of which are included in the retreat. In the evening, relax in Playa de Muro, letting the day dissolve with gentle conversation and calm waters.
Day 6 – West Coast to Sa Calobra / Deià
Head along dramatic cliffs and open sea, feeling the freedom of the water. Swim, snorkel, or paddleboard in serene spots along the way. A gentle sailing lesson allows the family to practice reading the wind together. Evening anchoring in a secluded cove creates a perfect moment for calm reflection as the sun sets.
Day 7 – Return to Palma
Enjoy a final embrace of the Mediterranean as you return along the southern coast. Take one last swim, snorkel, or paddleboard excursion. Try fishing one final time or simply relax on deck and soak up the view. Arrive in Palma at sunset, concluding the retreat with shared reflections on the week spent at sea.
Guests can also choose a shorter duration if they prefer, for example 5 days, while still enjoying the full retreat experience.
The experience begins at Real Club Náutico de Palma, one of Mallorca’s most respected marinas, located in the heart of Palma. From here, you’ll set sail along the island’s coast, exploring hidden coves, quiet beaches, and vibrant marine life. The route combines well-loved anchorages with off-the-beaten-path spots, ensuring a mix of adventure and calm throughout the journey.
For those arriving from abroad, airport collection is available to make the transition from land to sea effortless. Once on board, you’ll be surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Mediterranean — turquoise waters, scenic coastlines, and the soft hum of the sea breeze.
Perseus XXI, a 1978 ketch lovingly restored by her current owners, combines traditional charm with homely comfort. The main cabin, reserved for parents, includes a double bed, private bathroom, and natural light streaming through deck hatches. Two additional bunks provide a cosy and adventurous space for children, creating a true family home at sea.
Life on board feels both comfortable and intimate, with shared spaces for relaxing, cooking, and dining. Whether stretched out on the solarium, chatting in the cockpit, or watching the night sky from deck, each moment brings the family closer together in a calm, floating sanctuary. All meals are included as part of the retreat, with drinks available throughout the day.
No previous sailing experience is required. This retreat is designed for families or couples seeking to slow down, reconnect, and share meaningful time together. Children under 15 are welcome as long as they are comfortable being on the water and respectful of the shared living space.
Guests should bring their own swimwear and any personal provisions if they prefer special items outside the included meals. All other essentials — including towels, safety gear, and equipment for water activities — are provided. A love of nature, openness to family-style living, and willingness to unplug from technology are the only requirements.
The crew behind Perseus XXI share not just a boat but a way of life. Having sailed across oceans and raised their children at sea, they bring authenticity, warmth, and deep respect for nature to every experience. Guests are invited into this lifestyle, not as passengers, but as part of the family, learning from those who truly live what they teach.
Perseus XXI’s story is one of adventure and legacy. Built in 1978 in Taiwan, the ketch crossed the Atlantic four times before finding her home in Mallorca. Named under the Perseid meteor shower, the boat symbolises resilience, love, and freedom — values that continue to guide every journey she takes.
This sailing experience is designed for small, private groups of up to four people. Typically, this means one family or two adults with two children under 15 years old, allowing for a relaxed and personal outing without the presence of large crowds. The setup ensures that everyone has space to enjoy the day comfortably on board and allows the crew to focus fully on the group’s comfort and safety.
The smaller group size also means more flexibility in how the trip unfolds. Whether guests prefer a more hands-on approach to sailing or would rather sit back and unwind while taking in the views, the crew can adapt the pace and itinerary accordingly. This intimate format keeps the experience friendly and easy-going from start to finish.
The trip welcomes singles, couples, or small family groups, with the only condition being that guests are happy to sail alongside the crew’s children. This gives the experience a warm, family-oriented feel rather than a purely commercial charter. It’s particularly well suited to parents travelling with children or those who enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere while still getting to experience a real sailing day.
Although there are no strict age restrictions, families are generally made up of two adults and up to two children under 15 years old. This balance keeps things safe and enjoyable for everyone, ensuring there’s plenty of room on deck and in the seating areas while maintaining a sociable yet relaxed environment throughout the day.
Almost everything you’ll need for a comfortable day on the water is provided, including towels, refreshments, and all necessary safety and sailing equipment. The crew ensures that guests have everything they need on board, so you can simply arrive and get ready to enjoy the experience without worrying about the practical details.
The only items you’ll need to bring are your own swimwear and any personal items you prefer to have on hand, such as sunscreen or a change of clothes. It’s a good idea to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing suitable for a warm day at sea. Footwear should be non-slip or deck-friendly to keep you safe when moving around the boat.
Guests can meet directly at the port, which is located at the Real Club Náutico de Palma — a well-known marina in the heart of Palma with excellent facilities and easy access. The meeting point will be clearly communicated in advance, and the crew will be waiting to greet you on arrival to help you get settled before departure.
For added convenience, a collection from the airport can also be arranged if preferred. This makes it easy for guests arriving in Mallorca to head straight to the port without the need to organise their own transport. Whether you’re meeting at the marina or being collected, everything is arranged to make the start of your sailing experience smooth and straightforward.
Not at all — the retreat is open to complete beginners. Captain Ángel will guide you through basic sailing techniques in a relaxed, easy-to-follow way. You can take part as much or as little as you like, learning the ropes at your own pace while always under expert supervision.
The focus is on participation and connection, not performance. Families often find that learning together enhances the experience, giving both adults and children a shared sense of achievement as the week unfolds.
Absolutely. This retreat is created for families, especially those with children under 15 years old. The environment on board is friendly, supportive, and safe, offering plenty of opportunities for learning and fun through activities like snorkelling, paddleboarding, and fishing.
Children love the sense of freedom on the water and often form a natural connection with the crew’s own children. Parents can relax knowing their kids are engaged, safe, and making memories that will last a lifetime.
