Set high in the Haut Verdon, this active stay brings together several outdoor sports across alpine terrain and river valleys. Over the week, you combine guided and independent activities including hiking on mountain paths, mountain biking through forest tracks, canyoning in narrow gorges, tubing on flowing rivers, and a session of summer luge. The programme is designed to keep days varied, mixing physical effort with lighter activities, while making full use of the area’s altitude, open landscapes, and changing environments.
Across six days, you take part in four different outdoor sports selected from a wider activity programme. Some sessions are guided for safety and technique, while others are done independently to allow a more relaxed pace. Accommodation is organised for the full stay, creating a practical base between activity days. This trip suits active travellers who want variety rather than focusing on a single sport.
Carefully structured weeks like this are built by teams with long-standing experience in the Haut Verdon. Activities are chosen to complement one another physically, avoiding overload while keeping each day engaging. Local knowledge shapes the scheduling, ensuring the right balance between guided instruction, free time, and recovery, all without rushing between locations.

Accommodation is provided in a traditional mountain guesthouse in the village of Colmars-les-Alpes. The building reflects local alpine architecture and offers a practical, welcoming base between activity days.
Rooms are arranged to suit families, couples, or small groups, with shared spaces encouraging a relaxed atmosphere in the evenings. Meals are taken on site or nearby, keeping logistics simple after full days outdoors.
Children from age 8 can participate, provided they are accompanied by an adult if under 18. Families, beginner athletes, and outdoor enthusiasts will all find the itinerary manageable and enjoyable.
Activities are designed to introduce multiple sports safely, balancing physical effort with fun. Guides monitor skill levels and adjust the pace, ensuring no one feels rushed or excluded.
A moderate level of fitness is recommended for hiking and biking sessions. Terrain includes ridge paths, canyon floors, and gentle riverbanks, which can be uneven in places.
Canyoning and tubing require some agility and comfort in water but are guided, with full safety equipment provided. Guests with any health concerns should consult guides in advance.
Most sessions last two to four hours, with breaks for hydration, photos, or exploring scenic points. Some days include multiple shorter sessions, combining different sports.
Guides plan each day to avoid fatigue while ensuring participants have time to fully engage with the landscape.
Gîte La Chaumière offers family-run accommodation with simple, clean rooms and shared or private sleeping options. Common spaces allow group socialising, reading, or relaxing after activities.
Evening meals and lounge areas encourage connection with fellow guests and the hosts, creating a welcoming and friendly environment.
Breakfast is included daily, with selected lunches and dinners featuring local dishes. Ingredients come from regional producers, highlighting Haut Verdon’s culinary heritage.
Guests may purchase additional meals or snacks locally, or bring food for outdoor activities if desired. Guides provide recommendations for regional specialities.
No previous experience is required. Guides provide step-by-step instruction for hiking, biking, canyoning, and tubing.
Safety and fun are priorities, with all equipment provided and activities tailored to skill levels. Beginners are fully supported throughout the programme.
Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear for hiking and biking, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and gloves for biking or tubing are recommended.
Rain gear and extra layers are advised, as mountain weather can change quickly. Guides provide a detailed packing list before the trip.
The first meeting point is at Gîte La Chaumière, Le Col des Champs, Colmars-les-Alpes. Detailed directions and parking information are sent upon booking.
