Itinerary

Day 1 – Travel and Arrival
Fly from the UK to Toulouse, followed by a transfer to Andorra-la-Vella (approximately 3 hours). After arriving, you'll check into your private accommodation for the night.

Day 2 – Trek to Mountain Hut
After breakfast at your accommodation, meet your group and begin your trek. Start your hike from Les Escaldes to Refugi de L'Illa. This will be a 12km journey, taking about 5 hours with an elevation gain of 1435m. Enjoy a lunch break on the trail in the Vall del Madriu before arriving at the mountain hut for the night. Dinner will be provided at the hut, with half-board included.

Day 3 – Hut to Hut Trek
Following breakfast, depart the hut and trek towards Refugi de Juclar, passing by 16 gorgeous lakes in the Circ dels Pessons region. This is the longest day of the trek, covering 24km in 9 hours with an elevation gain of 1400m and a descent of 1500m. A lunch stop will be made on the way. After reaching the mountain hut for the night, dinner will be served.

Day 4 – Final Trek and Return to Andorra-la-Vella
On the final day of trekking, enjoy a shorter 10km route, taking around 3 hours with a descent of 760m. After reaching the end of your trek, have lunch in a café in Soldeu or Andorra-la-Vella. Enjoy a celebratory dinner at a local restaurant in Andorra-la-Vella. You will then return to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest.

Day 5 – Transfer and Departure
After breakfast, a transfer will take you back to Toulouse for your return flight. The transfer time is approximately 3 hours.

The trek takes place in the Andorra-la-Vella region, surrounded by the stunning Pyrenees mountains. Andorra is known for its well-preserved Romanesque churches, tax-free shopping, and impressive mountain sports facilities.

Accommodation

On the first and final nights of the trek, you’ll stay in a 3-star hotel in Andorra-la-Vella, providing a comfortable setting to rest after your journey. The hotel offers private accommodation, with meals included to ensure you’re well-nourished before starting your trek.

For the middle nights, you'll stay in traditional mountain huts along the route, providing a simple yet comfortable base for the trek. These huts offer half-board meals and a warm, welcoming atmosphere after long days of hiking.

Prerequisites

Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness and some previous experience in mountain trekking. The route involves walking on uneven terrain, with steep ascents and descents, so it’s important to be comfortable with extended hiking over several hours each day.

Participants should have a good level of fitness and be comfortable with walking long distances (up to 24km in a day) over uneven ground.

The best trekking boots are the ones you’re most comfortable in and have worn in well.

It’s important to choose boots that fit your foot shape—whether you have wide or narrow soles, need extra cushioning for high arches, or use your own insoles for support.

A boot specialist at a walking or running shop can help guide you to the right pair.

A well-worn pair of trail or walking boots is essential. Your rucksack should be comfortable, with adjustable waist and shoulder straps. You may need to experiment to find the best fit for you. The great thing about walking is you don’t need a lot of expensive gear.
