Embark on an unforgettable 3-day sea kayaking journey along the spectacular Jurassic Coast in Dorset. This kayaking adventure is an opportunity to search for dolphins, discover secret beaches, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this renowned coastline. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced kayaker, our journey offers an enriching experience for all.
Arrive at Purbeck Valley Farm Campsite (around 11am) on your own or take advantage of our complimentary pickup from Wareham Train Station (around 10.30am).
After gathering as a group and enjoying a picnic lunch together, we'll gear up for your first sea kayaking session.
This day focuses on mastering fundamental skills in tandem kayaks, featuring a brief excursion along the initial segment of the Jurassic Coast.
Post-kayak, we'll return to the campsite for a chance to freshen up. The evening is yours to explore local gems like Corfe Village and Swanage, with dinner being your choice (not included).
Start your day with a warm, inviting breakfast at a nearby cafe, then set off for a journey along the coast, passing landmarks like Chapman's Pool and Kimmeridge Bay. Midday, enjoy a scenic picnic lunch. We'll cover about 8km, interspersed with ample breaks.
Chapman's Pool, nestled within a serene cove, offers a chance to see the dramatic cliffs and diverse birdlife that characterise the Jurassic Coast. Kimmeridge Bay, renowned for its clear waters and marine life, provides an opportunity to observe an array of sea creatures, from crabs and fish to seals if we are lucky. The geological formations visible from these waters, including ancient ledges and fossil-rich strata, will add some magic to your kayaking.
We'll transport you back to the campsite in the evening for some relaxation.
Dinner is your choice, and if you wish, your host would be happy to set up a campfire for you and the group.
Fuel up with a substantial breakfast at The Salt Pig Cafe in Swanage, then embark on the final leg of our coastal adventure.
Our route includes Studland Bay and a stop at a hidden beach for snacks, before heading to Durlston Point with a chance to spot dolphins. We'll maintain a comfortable pace, covering around 8km with breaks.
After an early afternoon lunch at the campsite, prepare for your departure, with an optional shuttle back to Wareham train station at around 4pm where there are trains to Waterloo every hour.
Stay in comfortable pre-pitched bell tents at Purbeck Valley Farm, offering stunning views of Corfe Castle. Each tent has two single beds, with an additional bed available for groups of three. Enjoy a social tent with tea and coffee facilities and the option of a campfire in the evening.
Our campsite, situated on a working farm between Corfe Village and Swanage, offers a rural setting with beautiful surroundings.
No kayaking experience is required. Participants should have a basic level of fitness and be able to confidently swim at least 25m.

Absolutely! Most people who join our trip are travelling solo, or in pairs or small groups. You'll be in good company, and leave with some new like-minded friends.
We recommend that you pack:
No previous experience is required for this trip. We use sit-on-top kayaks which are exceptionally stable and ideal for beginners. Throughout the journey, you'll be under the guidance of a certified, professional instructor. However, a basic level of fitness is necessary, and participants should be able to swim confidently for at least 25 meters.
Our countryside campsite, nestled on a working dairy farm, offers both the comforts of modern facilities like hot showers and toilets, and the charm of a rural setting with stunning views.
While the campsite doesn't feature a shop or Wi-Fi, there's strong mobile signal connectivity. Situated between Corfe Village and Swanage, our campsite is equipped with pre-pitched bell tents, providing a comfortable and spacious retreat after a day of paddling. Each tent, overlooking the picturesque Corfe Castle, comes with two single beds, complete with a bed, mattress, and sheet - just bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. While we don't offer luxury glamping, our aim is to ensure your comfort and relaxation in a serene, rural environment.
For groups of three, we can add an extra bed in the tent, and tents are arranged to keep your group together.
In addition to your private tents, there's a communal social tent with tea and coffee-making facilities, ideal for mingling with other guests in the evenings. We often set up a campfire (upon request) where you can unwind and enjoy Dorset's renowned sunsets.
Please note that during summer, the campsite is also accessible to other visitors.
The coast of Dorset is generally calm and well-sheltered, especially in the summer, allowing most trips to proceed as scheduled. However, weather conditions can sometimes necessitate route changes, with your safety being our foremost concern in these decisions. In the rare event of extreme weather leading to trip cancellation, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer you the option to reschedule to another date at no additional cost.
You will have the option share with another individual, or choose to have your own tent, at no extra charge. For trios, we have the option of adding a bed to a two-person tent, too. We will do what we can to ensure everyone is happy and comfortable.
