## FAQs

### Can I join this trip as an individual?

Absolutely! Most people who join our trip are travelling solo, or in pairs or small groups. You'll be in good company, and leave with some new like-minded friends.

### What should I pack to bring with me?

We recommend that you pack: A warm sleeping bag and pillow (bell tent and single bed provided) Swimwear to wear under a wetsuit Old trainers or wet shoes to wear in the water - these will get wet so you will need a spare pair for the evenings A fleece and warm layers for the evenings Sun cream and sun hat Small rucksack Large water bottle Additional snacks to keep energy levels up

### Do I need prior kayaking experience?

No previous experience is required for this trip. We use sit-on-top kayaks which are exceptionally stable and ideal for beginners. Throughout the journey, you'll be under the guidance of a certified, professional instructor. However, a basic level of fitness is necessary, and participants should be able to swim confidently for at least 25 meters.

### What is the campsite like, and what facilities does it have?

Our countryside campsite, nestled on a working dairy farm, offers both the comforts of modern facilities like hot showers and toilets, and the charm of a rural setting with stunning views. While the campsite doesn't feature a shop or Wi-Fi, there's strong mobile signal connectivity. Situated between Corfe Village and Swanage, our campsite is equipped with pre-pitched bell tents, providing a comfortable and spacious retreat after a day of paddling. Each tent, overlooking the picturesque Corfe Castle, comes with two single beds, complete with a bed, mattress, and sheet - just bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. While we don't offer luxury glamping, our aim is to ensure your comfort and relaxation in a serene, rural environment. For groups of three, we can add an extra bed in the tent, and tents are arranged to keep your group together. In addition to your private tents, there's a communal social tent with tea and coffee-making facilities, ideal for mingling with other guests in the evenings. We often set up a campfire (upon request) where you can unwind and enjoy Dorset's renowned sunsets. Please note that during summer, the campsite is also accessible to other visitors.

### What is the food like on the trip?

Breakfast: We drive you and your fellow paddlers to a wonderful local cafe in Swanage called the Salt Pig Too. Breakfast choices include: locally-reared bacon or sausage ciabbata bap or scrambled eggs on toast plus freshly baked croissant, selection of cereal, fruit juice and hot drink of your choice. You're welcome to order additional items, but you will need to cover the cost. Lunch: Your packed lunch includes: The Salt Pig sausage roll/quiche, Pipers crisps, homemade fruity & nutty flapjack, nutty hazelnut brownie, and fruit. Dinner: Not included. There are lots of options in Corfe village or Swanage town. Drinking Water: There are plenty of stops along the way to fill up your water bottles. The lead guide will also provide water throughout the trip. Please bring a large water bottle. Drinking water taps are at the campsite.

### What happens in the case of bad weather?

The coast of Dorset is generally calm and well-sheltered, especially in the summer, allowing most trips to proceed as scheduled. However, weather conditions can sometimes necessitate route changes, with your safety being our foremost concern in these decisions. In the rare event of extreme weather leading to trip cancellation, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer you the option to reschedule to another date at no additional cost.

### Will I need to share a tent if I join the trip alone?

You will have the option share with another individual, or choose to have your own tent, at no extra charge. For trios, we have the option of adding a bed to a two-person tent, too. We will do what we can to ensure everyone is happy and comfortable.
