This 90-minute snowmobile route offers a longer and more immersive experience across winter terrain, combining prepared circuits with natural mountain landscapes. The session takes you deep into the Tena Valley and reaches the cirque of Rinconada de Piedrafita, one of the most recognisable winter formations in the area. It’s ideal for anyone wanting a slightly longer ride with varied terrain and more time on the snowmobile.
This route begins on the short snow circuit, giving you a controlled environment to familiarise yourself with the snowmobile. The guide covers throttle use, safe braking, balance, and spacing before leading the group towards the open terrain of the Tena Valley. Once the circuit section is complete, the route extends into natural snowfields and forested areas, providing a mix of packed and softer surfaces depending on the season.
The main destination is the Rinconada de Piedrafita, a cirque surrounded by steep winter walls and broad snow-covered plains. The approach offers a strong sense of progression as the landscape opens up and the valley becomes more expansive. Scheduled stops allow you to take photos, walk briefly on the snow, and learn about how winter conditions shape the terrain. After exploring the cirque, the return follows the same route, giving you a chance to reinforce your handling skills on familiar ground.
The guide adapts the pace to match group ability, ensuring a controlled and enjoyable session regardless of experience level. If you have already completed this activity on a previous visit, the route can be personalised to access different viewpoints or alternative winter sectors of the valley. Adjustments are also made seasonally to maintain safe snow depth and stable surfaces.
The snowmobile circuit starts near Panticosa, where reliable winter snow provides ideal conditions for guided routes. Initial circuit sections offer well-maintained surfaces, making them perfect for practising throttle control and coordinated steering. As you move into the Tena Valley, the environment shifts to wider snowfields and natural contours shaped by wind and snowfall.
The final destination, the Rinconada de Piedrafita, is a striking glacial cirque surrounded by steep slopes and distinctive winter features. Its large open floor provides a safe, predictable surface for group stops while still giving you a sense of remote mountain terrain. The valley’s layout ensures consistent visibility and allows the guide to discuss weather patterns, snowpack behaviour, and local wildlife.
A valid driving licence is required for anyone operating a snowmobile. No previous snowmobile experience is needed, and the guide will teach the essential techniques before leaving the circuit. Drivers should be comfortable following instructions and maintaining focus on changing winter surfaces.
Passengers do not need a licence. Participants should wear suitable winter clothing, including gloves, sunglasses, and insulated layers. Wind chill can be significant when moving at speed, so thermal protection is highly recommended. Snow conditions can vary throughout the day, making waterproof outer layers especially useful.
This 90-minute circuit offers a strong balance between accessible terrain and natural mountain exploration. You get time both to develop confidence and to enjoy scenic winter environments that are difficult to reach without snowmobiles. Our routes are adjusted to match your experience and remain safe across changing conditions.
Our snowmobiles are high-quality two-seater models chosen for their stability, comfort, and predictable handling on mixed snowpack. The guiding team prepares the route carefully in advance and leads from a separate machine, ensuring you receive clear instructions and continuous oversight. Their understanding of winter terrain in the Tena Valley adds context and practical guidance throughout the tour.
