The Hel Peninsula is Poland's classic kite and windsurf strip — a thin Baltic finger where shallow lagoons and open-sea beaches sit minutes apart depending on wind direction. Centres set the launch day-of; water stays cool even in July; and the session itself is usually the reason to stay on the spit rather than commuting from the Tricity every morning. Pack layers, expect wind, and keep a rest day for flat forecasts.
Wind sports on Hel
Under the Baltic Coast, Hel concentrates kitesurfing and windsurfing for beginners through improvers, with kit and lessons from beach schools. Pair with harbour sailing around Gdańsk and the Tricity when you want city nights between wind days.
Getting there
Train or car from Gdańsk along the spit; summer traffic is real. Open the Book here tab for kite and windsurf dates — July–August weekends fill first.
