Climb high above the Mediterranean and drop straight into turquoise water on this full-day psychobloc (deep water soloing) experience in Mallorca. With climbs adapted to your level and expert guides choosing the safest spots, this is one of the most refreshing and exciting ways to enjoy the island's cliffs.
You’ll meet your guide and head to one of Mallorca’s iconic psychobloc locations, chosen based on sea conditions, wind, tides, and group ability. The experience includes a full safety briefing, technique overview, and warm-up, before you head to the cliffs for an unforgettable climbing session. For beginners, the guide will focus on low-exposure climbs with easy exits from the water and a chance to build confidence on technical slabs and traverses.
More experienced climbers will be challenged with overhanging routes, long traverses, and classic deep water problems. Mallorca’s limestone offers excellent grip and texture, with routes that feature stalactites, caves, and natural pools. You'll swim between attempts, rest on nearby rocks or ledges, and enjoy support from your guide throughout. Sessions are paced based on group energy and the sea state. If sea conditions change or you prefer to avoid the water, there’s the option to switch to nearby sport climbing routes on dry land.
Optional private sessions and sailboat-supported trips are available for those looking for a more exclusive experience. These allow greater flexibility, the chance to explore hidden routes only accessible by sea, and time to relax between climbs on board. Sailboat sessions require a minimum of 8 participants and are not included in the base price but can be arranged on request.
The exact climbing site is chosen based on the day’s sea conditions and your level, but all are located along the coast of Mallorca, known globally for its deep water soloing opportunities. Classic spots include Cova del Diablo, Cala Barques, and Cala Sa Nau, with varying heights, overhangs, and water depths suitable for all climbers.
The approach to the cliffs ranges from 15 to 30 minutes and usually includes a coastal walk or short descent. These areas offer beautiful sea views, crystal-clear water, and shaded areas for resting and watching others climb. Your guide will manage access, exit points, and all safety precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
To join this session, you must be at least 15 years old, able to swim confidently, and comfortable being in open water for short periods. You do not need prior climbing experience—routes are chosen and adjusted to suit the group's range.
While it helps to have some basic climbing knowledge, especially for more advanced routes, the guide will support beginners with hands-on coaching and route selection. If you have any doubts about your fitness or experience, we recommend speaking with our team beforehand to find the right option for you.
Our guides know every corner of Mallorca’s coastline and are deeply experienced in assessing sea conditions, route quality, and access. Whether you’re new to psychobloc or a seasoned climber looking for the best spots, your experience is fully tailored for both safety and progression.
We offer both beginner-friendly sessions and advanced coaching, along with optional sailboat-supported trips for a premium experience. Small group sizes, expert instruction, and an emphasis on enjoyment make this one of the most memorable climbing experiences Mallorca has to offer.
Psychobloc, also known as deep water soloing, is a type of climbing done without ropes on sea cliffs, using the ocean below to cushion your fall. It's a fun, high-adrenaline way to climb and safely fall straight into deep water.
This discipline blends bouldering with cliff diving and offers a very unique experience. Mallorca is widely considered the birthplace of Psychobloc and is home to some of the best routes in the world.
No previous climbing experience is required. The session is open to anyone aged 15 and over who can swim confidently. Beginners are guided to easier routes with safe water entry points and taught basic techniques.
The day is fully adaptable to your ability. More experienced climbers can focus on pushing their grade and technique on higher or more complex lines, with coaching support if requested.
You should bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, and shoes suitable for a short coastal walk. A dry bag is helpful if you want to keep items secure near the water.
Also bring lunch or snacks and at least 1.5L of water. If you have your own climbing shoes, harness, or helmet, you're welcome to use them, though gear is provided if needed.
Psychobloc requires comfort with both climbing and falling into open water, so this session may not be suitable if you’re unsure around heights or sea cliffs.
That said, many people overcome nerves once they understand the setup and feel supported by their guide. If you’re unsure, consider a traditional rock climbing session first.
Yes. Private group sessions are available and can be fully customised to your preferences—locations, timings, and route difficulty. You can also include the sailboat-supported option.
Private bookings are ideal for families, friends, or those who want more flexibility. Minimum numbers apply for boat sessions, but land-based private tours can usually be arranged with 2 or more people.
Please contact us via the adventuro chat to enquire.
If sea or weather conditions are unsafe, your guide may offer to reschedule the session or switch to a land-based climbing day. You’ll be kept informed ahead of time.
Safety is the top priority. If an alternative can’t be arranged, your booking can be postponed or refunded. Mallorca offers excellent weather for Psychobloc from April to October, with reliable summer conditions.
Toni was a great guide! It was an excellent day out and a great experience. The canyoning includes 1 hour hike in, 2.5 hour canyon and 1.5 hour hike out. Be prepared for some walking! Also don't forget your car keys in the shuttle car like we did...
Our climbing instructor Domingo was excellent. Calm and assured, with emphasis on safety and ensuring we were climbing within our limits.
