Taking your diving skills further, the Advanced Open Water Diver course builds confidence and experience through five specialised adventure dives. It’s designed to broaden your underwater abilities with a mix of mandatory and elective dives tailored to your interests. You can also combine this course with the Open Water Diver course in a package for a streamlined training experience.
Your course begins by planning your five adventure dives with your instructor, tailoring the electives to suit your preferences and goals. The two required dives cover deep diving—where you’ll learn about physiological effects and safety measures at greater depths—and underwater navigation to sharpen your compass use and natural landmark skills.
The remaining three dives can include options like underwater photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, wreck diving, or night diving, providing both new skills and exciting ways to explore the underwater world. Each dive combines practical skill development with hands-on experience under professional supervision.
For those who haven’t completed the Open Water Diver course, combined packages are available that allow you to take both courses consecutively, streamlining your training and enabling a faster path to advanced certification.
Training takes place in Cala Barca urbanisation at Sa Barca Trencada, Mallorca, a calm and sheltered coastal area ideal for diverse diving conditions. The nearby open waters offer excellent sites for deeper dives, navigation practice, and speciality adventures.
Mallorca’s warm Mediterranean climate and clear waters make it a popular destination for divers of all levels, providing a safe and varied environment to develop new diving skills and enjoy underwater exploration.
Participants must hold a PADI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) and be at least 12 years old to enrol. Young divers may have some restrictions on elective dives and should check with the instructor before booking.
Good health and basic swimming ability are essential. All participants will complete a medical questionnaire to ensure fitness for diving, and parental consent is required for minors.
Experienced PADI instructors guide you through personalised dive planning and tailored adventure dives, ensuring your learning is focused and enjoyable. The flexible format allows you to choose electives that match your interests and ambitions as a diver.
Offering combined packages with the Open Water Diver course, the centre provides an efficient way to advance your skills in a supportive environment. With expert guidance and ideal dive sites, it’s a great place to gain confidence and broaden your underwater experience.

The course includes five adventure dives. Two are mandatory: deep diving and underwater navigation. The remaining three dives can be chosen from a wide range of specialties like night diving, wreck diving, buoyancy control, or underwater photography.
Each dive focuses on skill development and knowledge enhancement. You’ll practise new techniques in real diving conditions, all under the close supervision of your instructor, who tailors the experience to your interests and skill level.
You’ll gain experience with deep diving techniques, learning about the physiological effects of depth and safe practices to manage them. Navigation dives improve your ability to use a compass and natural references to find your way underwater.
Depending on your elective dives, you might also learn skills such as improved buoyancy control, fish identification, underwater photography, or wreck penetration. These skills broaden your diving capabilities and open up new underwater adventures.
Yes, many divers choose to continue directly into the Advanced Open Water Diver course after finishing the Open Water Diver certification. Combined packages are available via the booking form, allowing you to complete both courses in one extended programme.
This approach is efficient and lets you build your skills without delay, taking advantage of the same dive sites and instructor support. It’s a popular option for those wanting to maximise their diving experience during a single trip.
Feeling nervous is common when trying new dive types. Instructors provide thorough briefings and support to help build your confidence gradually. You can take your time practising skills and ask questions at any stage.
The course is designed to be approachable, with a focus on learning in a controlled and supportive environment. You’ll be accompanied by professionals who prioritise your safety and comfort throughout.
