Experience outdoor rock climbing in a safe, supportive environment, with sessions designed for all abilities. Whether you are trying climbing for the first time or want to practise existing skills, these sessions take place on Dartmoor crags or Devon climbing locations. Challenge yourself on inland climbs or coastal routes while building confidence and having fun.
Outdoor Climbing Introduction: Sessions start with a detailed safety briefing covering harness fitting, rope handling, belaying, and climbing technique. You will then move onto climbs chosen to match your ability, starting with easier routes and progressing to more challenging faces as confidence builds.
Tailored Climbing Routes: Instructors adapt the session to suit your skill level and goals. Beginners are guided step by step, focusing on technique, balance, and controlled movement. Those with prior experience can tackle more difficult routes while refining their skills and learning advanced rope management techniques.
Optional Abseiling: For those seeking extra adventure, abseiling can be incorporated. You’ll learn how to set up the descent, carry out safety checks, and perform controlled descents under instructor supervision. This adds an exciting dimension to the day and reinforces climbing safety principles.
Support and Guidance: Throughout the session, instructors provide individual coaching and encouragement. The pace is friendly and flexible, allowing time for breaks, guidance, and practice on different rock faces.
Climbing sessions take place on carefully chosen crags across Devon and Dartmoor, selected for accessibility, safety, and variety. Crags feature a range of routes from gentle inclines to moderate climbs, with natural features that allow you to practise key climbing skills.
Coastal locations provide dramatic scenery and different challenges, including rock type, height, and exposure, while inland Dartmoor sites offer sheltered climbs that are ideal for beginners and those building confidence. Instructors tailor each session to the location and conditions.
No previous climbing experience is required. Suitable clothing for outdoor activity is essential, including sturdy footwear.
All necessary climbing equipment—ropes, harnesses, and helmets—is provided. You are responsible for personal kit, including food, drinks, clothing, and bags.
Qualified instructors with extensive outdoor experience deliver sessions that are safe, engaging, and personalised. Each climb is carefully monitored, with instruction on technique, safety, and climbing strategy to ensure confidence and competence at every stage.
Sessions are designed to provide both a challenge and enjoyment, with flexible routes, optional abseiling, and coaching adapted to your pace and ability. Whether it’s your first climb or you want to improve existing skills, you’ll receive expert guidance in a friendly and supportive environment.
