Combine an Algarve sunset cruise with an exceptional dining experience aboard a classic sailing yacht. This exclusive experience pairs coastal exploration, swimming opportunities and a live sushi show cooking session, creating an unforgettable evening on the water.
Perfect for special occasions, celebrations or anyone looking for something truly different, this experience brings together spectacular scenery, authentic sailing and freshly prepared sushi as the sun sets over the Atlantic.
Your experience begins at Marina de Portimão, where you'll board a classic sailing yacht and set course along the Algarve coastline. As you sail towards João d'Arens Bay, you'll enjoy views of golden cliffs, hidden coves and striking coastal scenery while settling into a relaxed atmosphere onboard.
Upon reaching João d'Arens, there will be time to enjoy the surroundings, take a swim in the clear Atlantic waters and relax in one of the Algarve's most picturesque coastal locations. The peaceful setting provides the perfect backdrop for an evening on the water before the culinary experience begins.
A highlight of the trip is the live sushi show cooking experience prepared onboard by a professional sushi chef. Guests can watch fresh sushi being expertly crafted while enjoying the changing colours of the sunset over the ocean. As daylight fades and the coastline takes on warm evening tones, you'll begin the return journey towards Portimão. Whenever wind and sea conditions allow, the yacht will sail under wind power, creating a memorable conclusion to an exceptional evening.
The experience takes place along the coastline surrounding Portimão, one of the Algarve's most popular sailing destinations. This area is famous for its limestone cliffs, clear waters and dramatic coastal scenery, making it ideal for sunset cruises and private yacht charters.
João d'Arens Bay provides the centrepiece of the experience. Surrounded by rugged rock formations and protected from much of the coastal activity found elsewhere, it offers a peaceful environment for swimming, dining and enjoying uninterrupted views as the sun sets across the Atlantic.
No sailing experience is required. This experience is suitable for couples, families, groups of friends and guests celebrating special occasions. The yacht is operated by an experienced skipper, allowing everyone onboard to simply relax and enjoy the experience.
Guests wishing to swim should bring swimwear and a towel. As with all marine activities, swimming opportunities and routing remain dependent on sea and weather conditions to ensure safety and comfort throughout the trip.
This experience combines two of the Algarve's greatest pleasures: sailing and exceptional food. Rather than simply enjoying a meal ashore, guests can experience a unique dining event while anchored in a beautiful coastal location, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the sea.
The addition of live sushi preparation creates a truly memorable atmosphere that goes far beyond a standard boat trip. Combined with a private yacht, sunset views and authentic sailing, it offers one of the most distinctive experiences available along the Algarve coastline.
The sushi show cooking experience features a professional sushi chef preparing fresh sushi live onboard while the yacht is anchored in a beautiful coastal location. Guests can watch the preparation process, learn more about the ingredients and techniques used, and enjoy a dining experience unlike anything available in a traditional restaurant setting.
The combination of live culinary preparation, ocean views and the relaxed atmosphere of a private sailing yacht creates a memorable experience that appeals to both sushi enthusiasts and guests simply looking for something unique during their time in the Algarve.
Yes. The show cooking element means the sushi is prepared in front of guests by a professional sushi chef. Watching the preparation is a key part of the experience and adds an interactive element to the evening.
Seeing the dishes created fresh onboard allows guests to appreciate the craftsmanship involved while enjoying the atmosphere of being at sea. It transforms dinner into part of the entertainment rather than simply a meal.
Not at all. While sailing is an important part of the experience, many guests book specifically for the combination of dining, scenery and exclusivity rather than for the sailing itself.
The cruise is designed to be comfortable and relaxing, making it suitable even for those with little interest in sailing. Guests can simply sit back, enjoy the views, watch the sunset and focus on the food and atmosphere.
Yes. The itinerary includes a stop at João d'Arens Bay where guests can enjoy a swim in the clear waters if conditions are suitable. This provides an opportunity to cool off and enjoy the natural surroundings before the evening dining experience begins.
Swimming opportunities are always dependent on weather and sea conditions. The skipper will assess the situation on the day and determine the safest location for any swimming activities.
Absolutely. This experience is particularly popular for anniversaries, birthdays, proposals, honeymoon celebrations and other important milestones. The private yacht setting and live dining experience create a memorable atmosphere that feels both exclusive and personal.
Many guests choose this option specifically because it offers something far more distinctive than a restaurant reservation or a standard sunset cruise. The combination of sailing, dining and sunset views makes it ideal for celebrating special moments.
The route explores part of the Algarve coastline surrounding Portimão and João d'Arens Bay. Guests can enjoy views of dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, rocky formations and clear Atlantic waters throughout the journey.
As the evening progresses, the scenery changes dramatically with the setting sun. The golden light reflecting from the cliffs and ocean creates some of the most photogenic conditions of the day and is often a highlight of the experience.
Guests should bring a towel and swimwear if they would like to swim during the stop at João d'Arens. Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat are also recommended for comfort during the earlier part of the cruise.
As temperatures can become cooler after sunset, bringing a light jacket or extra layer is advisable. This helps ensure you remain comfortable while enjoying the return journey back to Portimão.
Whenever wind and sea conditions allow, the yacht will sail under wind power during parts of the journey. Sailing in this way creates a peaceful atmosphere and allows guests to experience the traditional side of life at sea.
Conditions vary throughout the year, so sailing cannot be guaranteed for every departure. The skipper will always choose the safest and most enjoyable operating method based on the weather and sea state.
Yes. The yacht is reserved exclusively for your group, ensuring a more personal and relaxed atmosphere throughout the cruise. You will not be sharing the vessel with other guests.
This exclusivity allows you to enjoy the experience at your own pace and makes it particularly well suited to celebrations, romantic evenings and small private gatherings.
