Mountaineering Expedition on Lenin Peak, Kyrgyzstan

Previous mountain experience is strongly recommended due to the altitude, duration and physical demands of the expedition. Experience hiking in mountainous terrain and spending multiple days outdoors will help prepare you for the challenge.

While Lenin Peak is often considered one of the more accessible 7,000m mountains, it remains a serious expedition requiring strong fitness, determination and the ability to cope with prolonged periods at altitude.

The route is less technical than many mountains of a similar height, which is why it is often recommended as a first 7,000m peak. However, the altitude itself creates a significant challenge regardless of technical ability.

Participants should expect long climbing days, steep snow slopes, glacier travel and changing mountain conditions. Success depends on acclimatisation, fitness and favourable weather throughout the expedition.

The expedition is generally suitable for participants aged 18 and over due to the physical demands and logistical challenges associated with high-altitude mountaineering.

If younger participants wish to join, please send a request before booking. Suitability can then be assessed based on previous experience, fitness and expedition background.

Accommodation includes hotel stays in Osh and mountain camp accommodation throughout the expedition. This provides a balance between comfort during the lower stages of the journey and practical accommodation on the mountain.

Higher camps use expedition tents positioned to support the ascent. Facilities become more basic as altitude increases, reflecting the remote nature of the environment.

Mountain weather can be unpredictable, especially above 6,000 metres. Strong winds, snowfall or poor visibility may require changes to the planned summit schedule.

To maximise flexibility, reserve days are included within the itinerary. Guides continuously monitor weather forecasts and mountain conditions to identify the safest and most appropriate summit window.

Yes. All participants must have personal insurance that specifically covers high-altitude mountaineering, emergency evacuation and medical treatment.

Standard travel insurance policies often exclude mountaineering activities above certain elevations, so it is important to check the policy carefully before travelling.

You'll need full high-altitude mountaineering kit including layered clothing, mountaineering boots, harness, helmet, ice axe, crampons and a sleeping system suitable for cold mountain camps.

A detailed kit list is provided before departure. Some gear can be rented locally if needed, though personal equipment that fits well is strongly recommended for comfort and safety.

The expedition follows a gradual ascent profile with training at Advanced Base Camp, acclimatisation climbs to Yuhina Peak and Razdelnaya Peak, and rest days before the summit rotation.

This structured approach helps your body adapt to altitude while building the skills and confidence needed for the final push to 7,134 metres.

The journey begins in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, where you'll meet your guide team and complete equipment checks before travelling to Achik-Tash Base Camp.

International flights to Osh are not included, so you'll need to arrange travel to the meeting point independently or with our assistance.

The price covers professional guiding, accommodation in Osh and mountain camps, meals during the expedition, camp facilities, permits and internal transfers to base camp.

Personal insurance, visa fees, porter services, gear rental and transport to the meeting point are not included.
