Built for those wanting a more active canyoning session, this half-day experience introduces more technical sections while still being accessible without previous canyoning experience. The focus shifts towards abseils and movement through more structured canyon terrain, with a short but physically engaging format. It suits adventurous beginners who are comfortable with basic outdoor challenges.
Arriving at the meeting point, the session begins with a safety briefing and full equipment fitting before heading towards the canyon chosen by your guide. The route selection is based on conditions and group ability, ensuring a suitable Level 2 experience.
Inside the canyon, expect a mix of walking, swimming and more structured movement through rock and water features. Some routes include mandatory abseils up to 20–25 metres, while jumps and slides are generally optional unless otherwise required by the terrain.
Progressing through the canyon, the pace is steady but more focused than beginner levels, with less stopping and more continuous activity. The session finishes with an exit walk followed by returning equipment and heading back to the meeting point.
Stretching across the Pyrenees canyon network, Level 2 routes take place in more dynamic environments featuring steeper rock sections and deeper water channels. The terrain is more varied, with shorter approaches but more technical movement within the canyon itself.
Operating from Aínsa and nearby canyon access points, the guide selects the most appropriate route from Level 2 options depending on conditions. These may include sporty canyons with minimal abseiling or more technical descents depending on the day.
Supporting a basic level of fitness, this activity requires participants to be comfortable with short hikes, swimming and moving through uneven terrain. Agility and coordination are important due to the more technical sections.
Entering this level requires no previous canyoning experience, although it is best suited to those who feel confident with outdoor physical activity. It is not suitable for sedentary individuals or those uncomfortable with heights.
Guides are experienced in selecting and managing more technical canyon routes, ensuring each Level 2 session is matched carefully to conditions and group capability. Safety and clear instruction remain central throughout the experience.
Routes are chosen to balance accessibility with challenge, meaning some canyons focus more on abseiling while others offer continuous movement. This flexibility allows the guide to tailor the experience while maintaining a consistent Level 2 standard.
Level 1 is designed for beginners, where everything is optional including jumps, slides and abseils. It’s a relaxed introduction with easy progression and no compulsory technical sections.
Level 1–2 is a full-day experience with no prior experience needed, but it can include mandatory abseils up to 20 metres depending on the canyon. It suits active people with good fitness who are used to hiking or regular outdoor activity.
Level 2 is a half-day option with no overall mandatory jumps, but it may include a compulsory 3 metre jump and abseils up to around 20–25 metres. It requires good coordination, agility and confidence moving through water and rocky terrain.
Level 3 is the most technical option and requires previous canyoning or climbing experience. Abseiling is always mandatory, and the routes are more physically demanding with longer approaches and more challenging terrain.
Dry Level 1–2 is a beginner-friendly dry canyon option with no water sections, designed for colder conditions or for those who prefer to stay out of the water.
You can explore the other available levels below.
No previous experience is required for this level. It is designed to introduce more technical canyoning elements while still remaining accessible to active beginners.
Instruction is provided before and during the activity, with full guidance from your guide throughout. Even on more technical sections, support is continuous.
Abseiling is a key part of Level 2 and may be mandatory depending on the canyon chosen. Some routes include abseils up to 20–25 metres as a required part of the descent.
The guide selects the canyon based on conditions, so you will be briefed beforehand on what to expect. In some cases, sporty canyons without abseiling may also be used.
Most jumps and slides are optional on Level 2, meaning you can choose to avoid them where possible. The focus is more on abseiling and controlled movement through the canyon.
If a feature is optional, the guide will show alternative routes. However, some sections may require participation depending on the specific canyon.
The full experience lasts around 5 hours including briefing, equipment fitting and canyon time. It is a half-day activity with a focused structure.
You will spend approximately 2.5 hours inside the canyon itself. The remaining time is used for preparation, walking approaches and return.
A basic level of fitness is required, with the ability to move comfortably through uneven terrain and water. Agility and coordination are also important for more technical sections.
It is suitable for active individuals but not for those with very low fitness or limited mobility. The activity involves continuous movement rather than long rests.
Yes, a basic ability to swim is required as water sections are part of most Level 2 routes. You will wear a wetsuit for buoyancy and protection.
Strong swimming skills are not needed, but confidence in water is essential. The guide supports you throughout all water-based sections.
You should bring swimwear, a towel and dry clothes for afterwards. Footwear that can get wet and provides good grip is required.
Closed shoes suitable for mountain terrain are essential. You should also bring water and a light snack if needed.
