Designed for complete beginners or anyone returning after time away from flying, this course provides a structured way into paragliding across selected sites in Zaragoza and the foothills of the Pyrenees. Learning is paced to match conditions and your progress, with a clear focus on safety and control at every stage.
Early sessions focus on building control on the ground, starting with equipment setup, safety checks, and learning how the wing responds in different wind conditions. Time is spent developing comfort with handling the glider before any flight work begins, ensuring a solid base before moving forward.
Progression continues onto training slopes where short flights are introduced under close radio guidance. These flights help develop take-off timing, landing accuracy and basic in-air control. A tandem flight with an instructor is also included, offering a chance to experience flight fully supported before transitioning into solo practice.
Later stages bring higher-altitude flights from established take-off points, allowing more time in the air to refine turns, approaches and landing techniques. Theory sessions run alongside practical training, covering weather interpretation, safety awareness and decision-making so each flight builds both skill and understanding.
Training takes place across selected flying areas near Zaragoza and the Huesca region, chosen for their consistent conditions and suitability for early-stage pilots. Each site offers a safe and controlled environment to learn, with gradual progression from gentle slopes to higher launches.
The Pre-Pyrenees provide a varied landscape that supports steady development, with open valleys and hillside sites such as Monlora and Somontano used throughout the course. These locations offer reliable conditions, clear landing zones and a calm learning environment suited to beginners.
No previous flying experience is needed, making this course suitable for complete beginners. A basic level of fitness helps, as ground handling involves short bursts of movement while controlling the wing.
Comfort with outdoor environments and changing weather conditions will make the learning process smoother. Instruction is structured step by step, so each stage builds naturally from the one before without requiring prior knowledge.
Years of experience in paragliding instruction across Spain have shaped a teaching style centred on clarity, progression and real practice. Training is built around giving students time to understand each stage properly, rather than rushing through skills.
Small group sizes allow instructors like David and the wider team to focus closely on each student. Carefully chosen flying sites match your level throughout the course, helping build confidence through real conditions while maintaining strong safety standards.
No prior experience is needed, making it suitable for anyone starting from scratch. Instruction is designed to guide each step clearly from the very beginning.
It also works well for those returning after a break who want to rebuild confidence in a structured way.
Progress depends on weather conditions and individual development, so training continues until key skills are achieved rather than following fixed dates. Each stage is completed at a steady pace.
Focus stays on building safe habits and consistent control rather than rushing through exercises.
Solo flights are introduced gradually, always under instructor supervision. Early flights are supported with radio guidance to ensure clear communication.
Support remains constant throughout, helping build confidence while maintaining safety.
Flying with an instructor provides a first full flight experience before moving into solo work. It helps connect ground training with real air experience.
Understanding how the wing behaves in flight makes the transition into solo flying more natural.
Training sites are chosen for stable and suitable beginner conditions. Flights only take place when safety and learning conditions are aligned.
If conditions change, sessions are adapted to keep progress steady.
Equipment setup, safety checks and wing control form the core of ground training. Practice includes handling the wing in different wind strengths and directions.
Strong ground skills make later flight stages much easier and more controlled.
Basic fitness is enough for this course. Ground handling involves walking, light running and managing the wing.
As control improves, physical effort becomes easier and more efficient.
No experience is required before starting. Everything is taught from the beginning in a structured way.
Equipment and instruction are fully provided throughout the course.
A beginner course certificate is awarded on completion of training. This confirms the skills achieved during the course.
There is also the option to progress towards APPI Pilot Level 1 certification.
Further progression options are available, including more advanced training and guided flying. Each stage builds on the previous one.
Continued practice helps develop confidence and prepares for independent flying in the future.
