View Florence and the surrounding Tuscan countryside from an entirely different perspective as you drift gently above one of Italy's most famous cities. Whether you join a shared flight or upgrade to a private experience, this memorable adventure combines historic landmarks, rolling landscapes and a peaceful journey through the sky.
Your meeting time and exact meeting point will be confirmed after the final weather check, usually the afternoon or evening before your flight. After meeting your pilot and ground crew, you'll receive a full safety briefing before watching the balloon inflate. If you'd like to be part of the preparation, you're welcome to help before climbing into the basket ready for take-off.
The flight lasts around one hour, carrying you wherever the wind leads above Florence and the surrounding countryside. Depending on the conditions, you'll enjoy views of the city's famous skyline, Renaissance architecture, nearby Chianti landscapes, rolling hills, vineyards and historic monuments before making a gentle landing. Afterwards, you'll relax with a drink and a fresh croissant before returning to the original departure area by shuttle.
A private upgrade is also available if you'd prefer a more exclusive experience. Along with your own private balloon and pilot, the private option includes hotel pick-up and drop-off, making it an excellent choice for anniversaries, honeymoons, proposals or anyone wanting to enjoy the flight with only their own group.
Flights take place around Florence, with launch sites selected according to the weather conditions on the day to provide the safest possible route. Your confirmed meeting point is sent after the final weather assessment together with your meeting time and Google Maps location.
From the air, you'll enjoy a unique perspective of Florence before drifting towards the surrounding Tuscan countryside. Depending on the wind, the flight may also pass over parts of the Chianti region, revealing vineyards, hills and historic landmarks beyond the city.
No previous ballooning experience is needed, making this an ideal activity for first-time flyers as well as those celebrating a special occasion. Children are normally welcome from 4 years old when accompanied by an adult.
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the season together with flat, closed-toe footwear. Requests for younger children can be considered individually depending on height, safety requirements and expected flying conditions.
Operated by an ENAC-certified hot air balloon operator with more than 30 years of experience, every flight is delivered with a strong focus on safety, reliability and customer experience. Experienced commercial pilots and dedicated ground crews ensure every stage of the adventure is professionally managed.
Because balloon flights are guided by the wind, no two journeys are ever exactly the same. Careful weather planning, experienced crews and flexible launch locations allow every flight to showcase Florence and the surrounding countryside from a unique perspective.
The standard experience takes place in a shared balloon, allowing you to enjoy the flight with other passengers while taking in the views together.
If you choose the private upgrade, the balloon is reserved exclusively for your booking. It also includes hotel pick-up and drop-off, making it especially popular for anniversaries, honeymoons, proposals and other special occasions.
The full experience lasts approximately three hours, including arrival, the safety briefing, balloon preparation, the flight, refreshments after landing and the shuttle transfer.
You'll spend around one hour in the air, although this may vary slightly depending on weather conditions and the chosen landing location.
The route depends entirely on the wind, so every flight is different. When conditions allow, you'll enjoy fantastic views over Florence together with its famous skyline and surrounding countryside.
As the balloon continues its journey, you may also drift across nearby hills, vineyards and parts of the Chianti region before landing.
From the basket, you'll enjoy a completely different view of Florence's historic buildings and surrounding Tuscan landscapes. The changing perspective makes familiar landmarks look entirely new.
Since the balloon follows the wind rather than a fixed route, each flight offers its own unique combination of city views and countryside scenery.
Yes. Most guests are experiencing a hot air balloon flight for the first time, and your pilot will explain everything clearly before take-off.
The flight itself is smooth and peaceful, making it an excellent introduction to ballooning without requiring any previous experience.
Flights are operated by an ENAC-certified hot air balloon operator with more than 30 years of commercial experience and a strong commitment to safety.
Every flight is preceded by detailed weather checks and a comprehensive safety briefing. If conditions aren't suitable, the experience will be rearranged rather than flown in unsafe weather.
Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor conditions and flat, closed-toe shoes are recommended throughout the experience.
Morning flights can begin in cooler temperatures, so bringing an extra layer is usually a good idea regardless of the season.
