Explore both land and sea on a guided, self-drive ATV experience that combines coastal riding, off-road tracks, and relaxed snorkelling time. This three-hour outing is designed to cover more ground than a standard island tour, while still allowing time to stop, swim, and explore.
You’ll travel through lesser-visited areas of Sint Maarten, mixing viewpoints, beaches, and trails with time off the vehicle to enjoy the water at your own pace.
After meeting your guide, you’ll be introduced to the ATVs, fitted with a helmet, and given a clear safety briefing before setting off. The route combines paved roads with off-road tracks, taking you along coastal stretches, hilltops, and quieter trails that aren’t accessible by standard vehicles. There are regular stops for photos, short walks, and to watch aircraft arriving low over the island.
Midway through the experience, you’ll stop at a beach location where you can cool off and enjoy snorkelling if you wish. This part of the tour is flexible, allowing you to swim, relax on the sand, or explore the shoreline depending on conditions and personal preference. Snorkelling is unhurried, giving you time to enjoy the water rather than rushing between locations.
Throughout the tour, the pace is steady and suitable for first-time ATV riders. The focus is on covering a varied route safely while allowing time to enjoy both the riding and the coastal stops.
The experience takes place across multiple areas of Sint Maarten, combining inland tracks with coastal viewpoints and beaches. Routes are selected based on weather and road conditions, ensuring safe riding while still showcasing quieter parts of the island away from busy resort areas.
Cruise passengers meet near the main port gates at AC Wathey Pier, while hotel guests are collected from selected locations across the island. Exact pickup times are confirmed in advance to fit smoothly around cruise arrivals and hotel schedules.
A valid driving licence is required and must be presented on the day of the tour. Riders should be comfortable operating a vehicle independently and able to follow guided instructions throughout the route.
This activity is not recommended for pregnant travellers or those with back problems, mobility issues, or sensitivity to uneven terrain. A minimum of two participants is required per booking, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
With over 20 years of combined local experience, the team behind this tour focuses on well-planned routes, realistic pacing, and clear communication throughout the experience. The aim is to show more of the island without overloading the schedule or rushing key stops.
Tours are designed to work for a wide range of travellers, including cruise visitors and hotel guests, with logistics handled carefully to keep the experience smooth from pickup to drop-off. Local knowledge shapes each route, helping guests see parts of Sint Maarten they’re unlikely to reach on their own.
No prior ATV experience is required. The route and pace are designed to be manageable for first-time riders, and a full briefing is provided before the tour begins. You’ll be shown how to operate the vehicle safely and what to expect on different types of terrain.
The guide leads the group throughout, sets a steady pace, and gives clear instructions at each stage. If you are comfortable driving a car or scooter and can follow guidance, you should find the riding straightforward.
Yes, a valid driving licence must be presented on the day of the tour. This is mandatory for all drivers and is checked before the experience begins.
If you do not bring your licence, you will not be able to participate, and refunds are not available in this situation. Provisional or learner licences are not accepted.
Yes, each ATV can seat two people. Pricing is per person rather than per vehicle, but riding as a pair is allowed.
If riding with a passenger, both participants must meet the minimum age requirement and follow safety instructions. The guide may adjust seating arrangements depending on group balance and terrain conditions.
The route includes a mix of paved roads, gravel tracks, and off-road trails. This combination allows you to see different parts of the island while keeping the ride accessible and controlled.
Some sections may be uneven or dusty, which is part of the experience. The tour avoids extreme or technical riding and focuses on steady progress rather than speed or difficulty.
Snorkelling takes place during a beach stop along the route. This is a relaxed portion of the tour where you can swim, snorkel, or simply enjoy time by the water.
Snorkelling is optional and self-paced. You are not required to enter the water, and the time at the beach allows for flexibility depending on weather, sea conditions, and personal preference.
Snorkelling equipment is not included, so you may bring your own if you plan to snorkel. Many guests choose to bring a mask and snorkel for comfort and fit.
If you prefer not to snorkel, you can still enjoy the beach stop without any additional equipment. Water conditions are assessed on the day to ensure safety.
Yes, this experience is well suited to cruise passengers. The meeting point is within walking distance of the cruise port, and timing is designed to fit around typical port schedules.
Pickup details and meeting instructions are confirmed in advance to ensure you return to the port comfortably within your ship’s timeframe.
Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor riding is recommended, along with closed-toe shoes. Beachwear, a towel, and sunscreen are advised for the snorkelling and swimming stop.
You should also bring your driving licence, a camera or phone for photos, and any personal items you may need during the three-hour tour.
This activity is not recommended for pregnant travellers or those with back problems, walking difficulties, or conditions affected by uneven surfaces.
The tour is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for participants who require mobility aids. If you are unsure whether the experience is suitable, it’s best to check before booking.
Tours are subject to weather conditions for safety reasons. If conditions are unsuitable, the experience may be rescheduled or cancelled.
In the event of cancellation due to weather, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund. Decisions are made with guest safety as the priority.
