Mobile Axe Throwing Event Hire Across the UK

Absolutely. Every session is supervised by trained instructors who provide a full safety briefing before anyone begins throwing. Participants are shown how to hold, throw and retrieve the axes correctly, as well as the rules that must be followed while inside the throwing area. Dedicated throwing lanes and safety zones help create a controlled environment for everyone taking part.

Most guests attending private events or public festivals have never thrown an axe before, so the activity is designed with beginners in mind. Instructors remain present throughout the event to provide coaching, monitor safety and ensure participants feel comfortable before progressing to longer-distance throws or friendly competitions.

Mobile axe throwing is suitable for a wide variety of events, including weddings, birthday celebrations, corporate functions, university events, charity fundraisers, agricultural shows, food festivals, music festivals and community events. Different setup options allow the activity to be adapted to both small private gatherings and large-scale public events.

Many organisers choose axe throwing because it appeals to a broad range of ages and abilities. Guests can take part casually for a few throws or spend longer developing their technique, making it a flexible attraction that works alongside other event entertainment.

The amount of space required depends on the option selected. The single target setup is ideal for venues with limited space and restricted access, making it suitable for gardens, smaller event spaces and private venues. The two-target trailer requires approximately 7.6m x 2.5m, while the four-target festival rig requires around 7.6m x 6.5m.

During the booking process, the team will discuss your venue layout and any access considerations to ensure the chosen setup is suitable. Photos, site maps or venue plans can often help identify the best location for the throwing lanes before arrival on the day.

No previous experience is needed. One of the reasons axe throwing has become so popular at events is that almost anyone can learn the basics within a few minutes. Instructors demonstrate the correct techniques and help participants develop confidence before progressing to more accurate throws.

Many guests arrive feeling unsure about their ability to hit the target but quickly improve with coaching and practice. The activity is designed to be enjoyable whether someone is aiming for competitive scores or simply trying something new with friends, family or colleagues.

The activity can operate in a range of weather conditions, but safety always comes first. Light rain typically does not affect operation, and many outdoor events continue as planned throughout the day. The team will assess conditions and make any necessary adjustments to ensure participants remain safe and comfortable.

For severe weather conditions, alternative arrangements may need to be discussed depending on the venue and event type. Organisers are encouraged to discuss contingency plans during the booking process, particularly for large outdoor events and festivals.

There is no strict maximum number of participants because the activity is designed around event duration rather than individual bookings. For private events, guests can enjoy unlimited throws during the hire period, allowing everyone to take part at their own pace throughout the session.

Larger public events can accommodate significant numbers of participants across the day, particularly when using the larger trailer and festival setups. The team can advise on the most suitable option based on expected attendance and event duration.

Yes, axe throwing has become increasingly popular for corporate events and team-building days because it combines friendly competition with a skill that most participants have never tried before. Instructors can organise scoring challenges, mini tournaments and team competitions to encourage interaction between colleagues.

Unlike some traditional team-building activities, participants do not need a high level of fitness or sporting ability to enjoy the experience. This makes it an accessible option for mixed groups with varying ages, abilities and confidence levels.

The single target setup does not require a power supply, making it suitable for remote locations and venues without access to electricity. This flexibility allows the activity to operate in a wide range of environments where larger attractions may not be practical.

The two-target trailer and four-target festival rig can utilise lighting and music systems, which require a 16amp power supply. If power is unavailable, this should be discussed during the booking process so suitable arrangements can be explored.
