Settle into the rhythm of the sea on this relaxed catamaran sailing session with an instructor, ideal for beginners or anyone keen to try sailing with guidance. With the support of an experienced instructor, you'll enjoy a gentle introduction to sailing while exploring the waters of Alcudia Bay in a safe and enjoyable setting.
Your experience begins at the beach base where you’ll be introduced to your instructor and fitted with all the necessary equipment. Before setting off, you’ll receive a short briefing covering the basics of sailing and the layout of the catamaran. This isn’t a technical lesson — the emphasis is on enjoyment, but there’s space to get hands-on with the sail or tiller if you’re curious to try.
Once on the water, the catamaran glides effortlessly across the bay. With twin hulls for extra stability and speed, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy the ride or take part in sailing under the instructor’s supervision. The views of the Mallorcan coastline stretch out in every direction, and the peaceful motion of the boat makes it a calming yet engaging activity. Throughout the session, your instructor will ensure that the pace and route suit the conditions and your preferences.
This sailing session takes place in Port d’Alcúdia, on the northeast coast of Mallorca. The bay is known for its calm, clear waters, making it an excellent area for water sports, especially sailing. The launch site is just off the main beach and within walking distance of nearby shops, cafés, and parking. The coastline here combines long sandy stretches with distant views of the Tramuntana mountains, offering an ideal setting for a gentle and scenic introduction to sailing.
Alcúdia is around 45 minutes by car from Palma and is well-served by public transport. The area is a popular spot for both relaxation and adventure, with shallow water and steady winds making it a reliable place to get out on the water.
No previous sailing experience is required to join this session. The instructor will guide you through everything you need to know, and the catamaran is very stable and beginner-friendly.
Participants should be comfortable in the water and able to follow basic safety instructions. Life jackets are provided, and wetsuits are available if needed based on the season or conditions.
The centre is based directly on the beachfront, making access to the water quick and easy. All instructors are fully qualified and familiar with local sea conditions, so your session is adapted to match the wind, weather, and your preferences. Whether you want to sit back and enjoy the sail or get more involved, they’ll tailor the experience to suit you.
The equipment is regularly maintained, and the setting in Alcúdia Bay offers some of the best conditions for beginners in Mallorca. With a focus on safety, enjoyment, and personal attention, this activity is a great way to experience sailing without the pressure of a formal course.
Yes, hotel pick-up is available for guests staying in the northern part of Mallorca. This includes Puerto Pollença, Alcudia, Port of Alcudia, Muro Beaches, and Can Picafort. Transport is available for groups of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 people. This service is designed to make your experience more convenient, particularly if you’re staying nearby but not directly within walking distance of the port.

You’ll have access to full on-site facilities, including changing rooms, toilets, and secure lockers for your belongings. This makes it easy to change in and out of your gear before and after your session, without needing to arrive already prepared. The facilities are kept clean and well-maintained for your comfort and convenience.
As part of the activity, all necessary safety and technical equipment is provided. This includes professional-grade nautical equipment, buoyancy vests, and insurance cover for both liability and accidents. The aim is to provide a safe, comfortable, and well-supported experience from start to finish, with everything you need available on-site.
If weather conditions on the day of your reservation prevent the activity from going ahead, there’s no need to worry. Your booking is flexible, and the team will work with you to reschedule for another available slot before the end of your holiday. This means you won’t miss out due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control.
Mallorca’s weather can change quickly, but safety is always the priority. If the forecast poses any risk or would negatively impact the quality of the session, the activity will be postponed. In most cases, an alternative day can be found, and you’ll be informed in plenty of time if there’s any need to rearrange.
The activity takes place in a designated area within the bay at Port d’Alcudia, which is known for its calm waters and scenic surroundings. There’s a clearly marked nautical channel that ensures a safe and organised area for watersports. This location allows for a safe and enjoyable experience regardless of your ability level, making it suitable for most participants.
The full address is Paseo Marítimo, 1, 07400 Port d’Alcudia, on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. The port area is easy to access and well-equipped, with nearby cafes and facilities if you want to relax before or after your session. The calm conditions of the bay also make it an ideal location for first-time participants or those looking to build confidence on the water.
To get the most out of your session, it's recommended to come prepared with a few basic items. You’ll need a swimsuit, a cap or visor for sun protection, sunglasses, and sunscreen to help protect against the midday heat. A towel is also a good idea for drying off afterwards, especially if you’re planning to change at the on-site facilities.
For your feet, bring water shoes such as flip-flops, aqua booties or other non-slip footwear. This will help you move comfortably around the shore and equipment area, especially if surfaces are wet or uneven. Staying hydrated is also important, so bringing a water bottle is advisable, particularly on hotter days.
It's a good idea to wear a swimsuit or comfortable quick-drying clothing, and bring a towel, hat, and sunscreen. Footwear isn't usually required on the catamaran, but water shoes or flip-flops can be worn to walk across the beach or dock area. If you're prone to sunburn, long-sleeved UV tops are recommended.
You won’t need to bring any specialist sailing gear, as all the technical equipment including the catamaran, life jacket, and wetsuit (if needed) will be provided for you. Cameras or phones can be brought at your own risk, but we recommend using waterproof cases if you want to capture some photos during the session.
Yes, absolutely. The session is hands-on and interactive, so you're welcome to get involved with adjusting the sails or taking the helm under the guidance of the instructor. The experience is tailored to each group’s interest and confidence levels, so you can do as much or as little as you like during the outing.
Beginners often find it helpful to try simple manoeuvres like steering or learning how the wind direction affects sail position. Your instructor will explain the basics clearly before you set off and will support you throughout to ensure the activity remains safe and enjoyable.
Definitely. The catamaran is known for being stable and smooth on the water, which makes it a popular option for first-timers or anyone who’s unsure about sailing. The experience is guided throughout, with a qualified instructor on board at all times, managing the technical aspects and ensuring everyone feels comfortable.
While the ability to swim is always useful around water, it is not essential for this session. Life jackets are provided and must be worn, and the sailing route is kept close to the shore in relatively calm waters. If you have any concerns before the session, you can speak directly to your instructor for reassurance.
