See Luxor from above on a sunrise hot air balloon flight, offering wide views across the Nile Valley, temples, and desert landscapes. This early-morning experience includes hotel transfers and is suitable for all ages looking for a calm, well-organised activity.
The experience begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel or river cruise in Luxor, followed by a transfer to the launch site on the West Bank. On arrival, you’ll watch the balloon being prepared and receive a safety briefing from the flight crew before boarding the basket. Hot air balloon flights operate at sunrise to take advantage of stable air conditions.
Once airborne, the balloon rises gradually, offering a quiet and steady flight over the Nile Valley and surrounding desert. During the approximately 45-minute flight, you’ll see temples, farmland, villages, and the river as daylight spreads across the landscape. The pace is slow and smooth, making this a relaxed experience rather than an adrenaline-based activity.
After landing, the crew assists with disembarkation and you’ll receive a flight certificate to mark the experience. Tea or coffee is provided before the return transfer back to your hotel. Exact pickup times are confirmed in advance via WhatsApp and may vary depending on sunrise time and flight conditions.
The flight takes place over Luxor and the surrounding West Bank area, known for its concentration of ancient monuments, agricultural land, and desert plains. The launch site location may vary slightly depending on wind conditions on the day.
Round-trip transfers are included from hotels and river cruises within Luxor city. All transport is by air-conditioned vehicle, ensuring a smooth journey to and from the launch site in the early morning.
No previous experience is required. Participants must be able to stand for the duration of the flight and follow instructions from the pilot and ground crew during take-off and landing.
The activity is not wheelchair accessible and is not recommended for travellers with certain mobility limitations. Infants must sit on a parent’s lap during transfers, and infant seats are not available.
Operating since 2006, this experience is delivered by a team with extensive local knowledge and experience in organising balloon flights and guided activities across Egypt. All operations follow local aviation and tourism regulations.
The focus is on clear communication, reliable transfers, and experienced flight crews. With instant booking confirmation, early-morning logistics handled for you, and a structured flight process, the experience is designed to run smoothly from pickup to return.
The flight itself lasts approximately 45 minutes, depending on wind conditions and landing location.
Including transfers, briefing, and return to your hotel, the total experience takes around 2 hours.
Pickup is scheduled very early in the morning to coincide with sunrise, as this is when flying conditions are most stable.
The exact pickup time is confirmed via WhatsApp the day before the flight and varies throughout the year.
Yes, the flight is operated by experienced pilots and supported by a professional ground crew. A safety briefing is provided before take-off.
Flights only operate when weather conditions are suitable, and schedules may change if conditions are not safe.
You’ll see the Nile Valley, farmland, desert landscapes, and several of Luxor’s well-known monuments from above.
Views depend on wind direction and altitude, meaning each flight route is slightly different.
Comfortable clothing and flat, closed-toe shoes are recommended. Early mornings can be cool, so a light jacket is useful.
Hats and loose items should be secured, as space in the basket is limited.
Children can take part if they are comfortable standing for the duration of the flight. Infants must sit on a parent’s lap during transfers.
Parents should consider early start times and standing requirements when booking for younger children.
The basket is shared with other passengers, with designated standing areas to ensure balance and safety.
Space is managed by the crew, and passengers are positioned evenly throughout the basket.
The experience is not wheelchair accessible, and participants must be able to step into and out of the basket.
Those with mobility concerns should consider this before booking.
If weather conditions are unsuitable, the flight may be delayed or cancelled for safety reasons.
In such cases, you will be offered an alternative date or a refund according to local operating policies.
