Naunet Sailing Yacht - Explore, Snorkel & SUP

No experience is required for any part of this trip. The experience is designed for guests who want to enjoy the Algarve coastline from the water, whether they are complete beginners or already comfortable with activities such as paddleboarding and snorkelling.

The focus is on exploration and enjoyment rather than instruction. The crew will explain how to use the equipment and answer any questions, allowing first-time participants to feel comfortable and confident throughout the experience.

The experience includes opportunities to snorkel in the clear waters around João d'Arens, one of the Algarve's most picturesque coastal areas. The calm conditions often found in the bay make it an excellent location for exploring beneath the surface and observing the local marine environment.

Water clarity varies depending on weather and sea conditions, but the area is well known for its clear water and rocky formations. Many guests find snorkelling one of the highlights of the trip.

Yes. Stand up paddleboarding is suitable for beginners and many guests try it for the first time during this experience. Calm conditions within sheltered bays often provide an ideal environment for learning the basics and building confidence on the board.

You are free to paddle at your own pace and there is no pressure to venture far from the yacht. Guests who prefer not to paddle can simply relax onboard or enjoy swimming and snorkelling instead.

Yes, the itinerary includes a stop in the bay of João d'Arens where guests can enjoy the water, conditions permitting. The stop is designed to give everyone time to swim, relax and make the most of the surroundings rather than simply viewing them from the yacht.

Swimming conditions are assessed by the skipper on the day. Safety is always the priority, and the location of the stop may be adjusted to ensure the most comfortable experience possible.

João d'Arens is one of the Algarve's lesser-known coastal gems. Characterised by dramatic cliffs, rocky inlets and clear water, it offers a more peaceful atmosphere than many of the region's busier beaches and tourist hotspots.

Approaching the area by yacht allows you to appreciate parts of the coastline that are difficult or impossible to access by land. The combination of natural scenery and calm waters makes it an excellent location for swimming and water activities.

Guests should bring a towel, swimwear, sunscreen and any personal items they may need during the trip. Sunglasses and a hat are also recommended, particularly during the summer months when the Algarve enjoys strong sunshine for much of the day.

Although temperatures are usually warm, conditions can feel cooler out at sea. A light jacket or extra layer can be useful, especially outside the peak summer season or if there is a stronger breeze on the return journey.

Yes. The relaxed nature of the cruise makes it suitable for families looking to spend quality time together on the water. Children often enjoy the opportunity to swim, look for marine life and try paddleboarding in a safe and supervised environment.

Parents should ensure that children are comfortable around water and follow all instructions given by the skipper. The crew will always prioritise safety and adapt activities according to conditions and participant abilities.

Whenever weather conditions allow, the yacht will use its sails during part of the journey, particularly on the return leg towards Portimão. Sailing under wind power provides a quieter and more traditional experience that many guests find particularly memorable.

However, sailing depends entirely on wind and sea conditions. The skipper will always choose the safest and most enjoyable way to operate the yacht, which may require the use of the engine during parts of the trip.

This experience is designed to provide a comfortable and exclusive atmosphere onboard. Group sizes are kept manageable to ensure everyone has space to relax, enjoy the activities and appreciate the scenery without feeling crowded.

The yacht offers multiple areas for guests to sit, socialise and enjoy the views. This makes the experience equally suitable for couples, families and small groups of friends.

Viewing the Algarve from the sea offers a completely different perspective from exploring by road or visiting the beaches. The coastline reveals hidden coves, secluded beaches and impressive rock formations that are often impossible to appreciate fully from land.

Travelling by sailing yacht also allows you to slow down and enjoy the journey itself. Rather than rushing between locations, you'll have time to relax, connect with the surroundings and experience one of Portugal's most famous coastlines in a more authentic and memorable way.
