Experience sailing firsthand in a relaxed and practical session on the calm waters of Alcudia Bay. This Raquero sailing experience offers hands-on time with a qualified instructor aboard a stable training boat designed for beginners. It’s an excellent way to try sailing or enjoy a fun, interactive activity at sea.
The session begins with a brief introduction on land where the instructor explains the boat’s structure, how to operate the rudder and sails, and safety measures while on board. This prepares you for the water and ensures everyone feels confident before setting sail. The guidance is tailored to the group's experience and pace.
On the water, you’ll actively participate in basic sailing manoeuvres such as tacking, jibing, and adjusting sails to catch the wind. The instructor provides ongoing support and tips on handling different wind directions and keeping the boat stable. The sheltered bay offers ideal conditions for beginners with calm, wide waters and scenic views.
Alcudia Bay on the northern coast of Mallorca is known for its calm, clear waters and gentle winds, making it perfect for introductory sailing experiences. The bay offers ample space and a safe environment, ideal for gaining confidence and enjoying time on the water without pressure. Surrounded by beautiful coastline and natural scenery, it enhances the overall sailing experience.
The sailing activity takes place from a marina in Puerto de Alcudia, offering easy access to the water and convenient facilities nearby. The location benefits from good weather for most of the year, making it suitable for sailing throughout the seasons. Its peaceful setting makes it a favourite spot for beginners and experienced sailors alike.
No previous sailing experience is required, making this suitable for complete beginners. A basic level of physical fitness is helpful to move around the boat and handle light tasks during the session. The instructor will provide all necessary guidance.
Participants should be comfortable in water and able to follow safety instructions carefully. There are no strict age restrictions, but children should be accompanied by an adult. Weather conditions may affect scheduling to ensure safety.
The sailing experience is led by a certified instructor with extensive knowledge and experience in teaching beginners, ensuring a safe and enjoyable session. The focus is on practical participation, making sure you feel involved and supported throughout. The boat used is specially chosen for its stability and ease of handling, which helps build confidence on the water.

The facilities are kept clean and well-maintained for your comfort and convenience.
As part of the activity, all necessary safety and technical equipment is provided. This includes professional-grade nautical equipment, buoyancy vests, and insurance cover for both liability and accidents. The aim is to provide a safe, comfortable, and well-supported experience from start to finish, with everything you need available on-site.
If weather conditions on the day of your reservation prevent the activity from going ahead, there’s no need to worry. Mallorca’s weather can change quickly, but safety is always the priority. If the forecast poses any risk or would negatively impact the quality of the session, the activity will be postponed. In most cases, an alternative day can be found, and you’ll be informed in plenty of time if there’s any need to rearrange.
The activity takes place in a designated area within the bay at Port d’Alcudia, which is known for its calm waters and scenic surroundings. There’s a clearly marked nautical channel that ensures a safe and organised area for watersports. This location allows for a safe and enjoyable experience regardless of your ability level, making it suitable for most participants.
The full address is Paseo Marítimo, 1, 07400 Port d’Alcudia, on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. The port area is easy to access and well-equipped, with nearby cafes and facilities if you want to relax before or after your session. The calm conditions of the bay also make it an ideal location for first-time participants or those looking to build confidence on the water.
To get the most out of your session, it's recommended to come prepared with a few basic items. You’ll need a swimsuit, a cap or visor for sun protection, sunglasses, and sunscreen to help protect against the midday heat. A towel is also a good idea for drying off afterwards, especially if you’re planning to change at the on-site facilities.
For your feet, bring water shoes such as flip-flops, aqua booties or other non-slip footwear. This will help you move comfortably around the shore and equipment area, especially if surfaces are wet or uneven. Staying hydrated is also important, so bringing a water bottle is advisable, particularly on hotter days.
