Quad biking in Scotland is an exciting way for families to spend time outdoors together. With specially designed sessions for kids aged 6–9 years, this activity combines safe instruction with plenty of time on the bikes, giving young riders their first taste of off-road adventure. Adults can join in alongside, making it a shared experience to enjoy as a family.
Sessions begin with a warm welcome and full safety briefing, where participants are kitted out with helmets, gloves, and protective overalls. The instructor will demonstrate how to operate the quad bikes before taking everyone to the training area. Kids will ride 70cc Polaris quads, while adults are matched with 110cc Polaris or 250cc Honda bikes, ensuring the right bike for each rider.
Once everyone is confident, the session moves onto farmland trails and a dedicated training area. The instructor leads the group, tailoring the route to conditions and abilities. Kids enjoy half an hour in the saddle, while adults ride alongside, creating a memorable shared experience. Sessions run all year, with adjustments to the trail in wet or wintery weather to keep riding safe and fun.
The quad biking site sits on the edge of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, offering a fantastic setting for outdoor activities. The trails wind through farmland and newly planted woodland, with routes carefully designed to minimise environmental impact. This is possibly Scotland’s only carbon negative quad biking provider, with tree planting ensuring the activity absorbs more CO₂ than it produces.
Easily accessible from across Central Scotland, the site is less than an hour from Glasgow, around 30 minutes from Stirling, and just over an hour from Edinburgh. Its location makes it a convenient option for a family day out while still feeling like a proper countryside escape.
Kids must be aged between 6–9 years and within the maximum rider weight of 13 stone. Adults must not exceed the maximum rider weight of 18 stone. The activity is designed for complete beginners, so no previous riding experience is needed.
Participants should bring sturdy footwear such as boots, wellies, or trainers that can get muddy. The centre provides helmets, gloves, and protective overalls to keep you comfortable and safe while riding.
The centre has been running outdoor activities for over 15 years, with a welcoming team who make every session enjoyable and safe. Quad biking is one of their most popular activities, and every session is delivered as a private booking to ensure families get a tailored experience without being grouped with strangers.
Their base near Loch Lomond is perfectly placed for those travelling from across Scotland, and their commitment to being carbon negative shows real care for the environment. With professional instruction, quality equipment, and a strong focus on safety, this is an activity designed for families looking to create lasting memories together.

Yes, dogs are welcome, but they must be kept on a lead at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after them and disposing of waste in the bins provided.
Yes, all sessions require at least one adult participant.
Each session is 60 minutes in total, with around 30 minutes of actual riding time for the kids. The remaining time is used for fitting equipment, a full safety briefing, and a demonstration so everyone is confident before heading onto the bikes.
This balance ensures children aren’t overwhelmed by too much time in the saddle while still giving them a proper riding experience. Adults ride alongside, so the whole family gets time on the trail, making the hour feel full and active.
Kids ride 70cc Polaris quads, which are smaller and lighter, specifically designed for younger riders aged 6–9 years. These bikes are easy to control, and the instructor ensures children understand how to use them safely.
Adults in the session are given larger 110cc Polaris or 250cc Honda bikes, depending on suitability and weight. Having the right size bike for each rider means both kids and adults can ride comfortably and enjoy the experience.
Yes, safety is the number one priority. The equipment, the size of the bikes, and the pace of the session are all carefully tailored for children. Instructors are experienced in working with young riders and will keep a close eye on every participant.
The trails used are designed for beginners, with a training area for practice before heading onto the farmland tracks. Sessions are private, so your group won’t be mixed with others, allowing the instructor to focus fully on your family.
