Enjoy a completely stress-free day on the water while a professional skipper takes care of all navigation, manoeuvring, and safety. This service allows you to focus on relaxing with friends and family, visiting local attractions, or attending events along the Cornish coast. Skippers can also handle deliveries or transfers, moving your vessel safely between marinas or coastal destinations.
Your day begins with a pre-trip briefing where the skipper explains safety procedures, navigational plans, and any specific points of interest along your route. Once on board, the skipper assumes full control of the vessel, allowing you to relax on deck, enjoy photography, or simply take in the coastal views.
If your plan includes visiting local restaurants, exploring shops, or attending special events like the Fowey Regatta, the skipper will coordinate timings to make the day seamless. Stops can be tailored to your preferences, with options for short excursions, sheltered anchoring, or scenic passages along the coast.
For boat relocation or delivery, the skipper plans every stage of the journey carefully, accounting for tides, currents, and weather forecasts. Communications with the owner are maintained throughout, including updates on progress and any adjustments needed to ensure a safe and efficient passage. Longer journeys may include overnight arrangements, and the skipper will coordinate travel logistics to minimise disruption.
The service operates from Fowey Harbour and covers surrounding waters including St Austell Bay, the Fal Estuary, and the wider Cornish coastline. Passengers can choose short coastal loops or longer excursions exploring secluded coves, popular harbours, and historical coastal landmarks.
Boat delivery services extend beyond Cornwall when required, with skippers prepared to navigate longer passages along the south coast or to neighbouring regions. Each route is planned according to vessel type, tide times, and client priorities to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and stress-free journey.
No prior boating experience is required for day hire, making the service suitable for families, friends, or individuals looking for a relaxing and safe experience on the water. Appropriate clothing and personal items for the weather and duration should be brought along.
For boat delivery or relocation, vessels must be insured under the owner’s policy. Owners are required to provide all relevant documentation in advance, including vessel registration, insurance details, and any instructions specific to their boat.
This skipper service is led by an experienced professional with in-depth knowledge of Cornwall’s coastal waters and harbours. Safety is always the highest priority, with navigation, tidal planning, and weather monitoring all meticulously managed.
Clients benefit from a flexible, bespoke service tailored to their needs, whether it is a leisurely cruise, attendance at local events, or a complex vessel transfer. Communication is clear and transparent throughout the booking and trip, ensuring confidence and peace of mind at every stage.
Part-day hire is available, particularly for local passages or short excursions around Fowey and nearby bays. The skipper will discuss timing and scope in advance to ensure your needs are met.
Even for a short trip, all navigation, safety, and operational responsibilities are fully managed, allowing you to enjoy your time on the water without handling the vessel yourself.
