Our Youth Training Program offers young climbers a chance to develop their skills in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. This programme, running since 2014, is designed for children and teens aged 7 to 18, helping them to grow both physically and mentally. Whether they're new to climbing or looking to refine their skills, this training is a great way to build confidence, fitness, and teamwork.
In this carefully structured programme, participants will progress through an 8-level syllabus, with each level focusing on key skills and challenges. The levels are named after famous mountain ranges, starting from the basics and advancing to more complex techniques. Each session includes a mix of climbing, drills, and games designed to improve strength, endurance, and problem-solving abilities. The children will work in small groups, ensuring individual attention and personalised guidance from our experienced instructors.
As they progress, they’ll tackle progressively more challenging climbing routes, each tailored to their skill level. We make sure that safety remains a top priority while teaching essential climbing techniques, teamwork, and mental strategies. Regular assessments help track development, and we celebrate their achievements with fun competitions and end-of-term showcases. This structure encourages not only physical fitness but also personal growth, providing opportunities for young climbers to feel accomplished in a supportive environment.
Our centre is conveniently located in Torquay, easily accessible for both locals and visitors. Situated within walking distance of Torre Abbey Sands and close to Torquay Town Centre, we are also on major public transport routes, making us a great spot for young climbers to gather and train.
There are no prior climbing requirements to join this programme. Participants should be keen to learn and enjoy working in a team environment.
The programme is designed to cater to all levels, from beginners to those with more experience. Safety is a priority, and the staff will guide each participant based on their ability.
Our custom-built gym is equipped with everything needed for a great climbing session, whether you’re just starting out or a more seasoned climber. We focus on holistic development, ensuring participants not only improve their climbing skills but also gain physical fitness and life skills. The supportive and welcoming environment encourages teamwork, building friendships and confidence.
The 8-level training system allows for steady progression, and our experienced team ensures that every child is supported in reaching their full potential. With a focus on fun, safety, and personal development, your child will thrive in our Youth Training Program, gaining skills that go far beyond climbing.
