



Experience the magic of wild swimming in the North Pennines with a unique adventure through two amazing waterfall pools. This outing combines invigorating swims with a scenic walk, offering a refreshing escape into nature. Under the guidance of an experienced Wild Swimming Walking Guide, you'll enjoy a wonderful adventure designed to connect you with the beauty of the natural world.
Your adventure begins in the charming village of Garrigill, where you'll meet at 10am. From there, you'll venture on a scenic, leisurely walk of just over 1 mile, with no significant uphill sections.
The walk leads to your first destination—a beautiful waterfall pool nestled deep in the woods. After enjoying a swim here, the journey continues to a 'wow' moment, a delightful watery surprise that adds a touch of excitement to your day.
The final destination is a hidden waterfall pool, providing a serene and refreshing swimming experience. We then commence the 1 mile walk back to Garrigill, enjoying the scenery, and exhilarating effects of the cold water! Throughout the session, you'll benefit from expert guidance on wild swimming and safety, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience.
Garrigill, located in the Cumbrian part of the North Pennines, offers a peaceful setting for outdoor adventures. This area is part of a designated National Landscape and UNESCO Global Geopark, known for its natural beauty and unique geological features.
No prior wild swimming experience is required, but you must be comfortable with the thought of swimming in cold water, and be able to swim at least one type of stroke.
Participants should be in good health and able to walk for approximately 2 miles on varied terrain. Warm clothing for after the swim and appropriate swimwear are essential.
Hayley, the guide for this adventure, brings a unique perspective as a Wild Swimming Walking Guide and Outdoor and Adventure Therapist. Her personal journey through grief and healing has deepened her connection with nature and outdoor activities. With extensive experience in hillwalking and cold water swimming, as well as qualifications in open water safety and rescue, Hayley is dedicated to providing a safe and enriching experience.
This adventure is designed to showcase the natural beauty of the North Pennines while offering a meaningful, therapeutic experience, guided by someone who truly understands the healing power of nature.
