Climb, balance and zip your way through a high ropes adventure in the woodland of Heaton Park. Start by getting to grips with the lower route, then build confidence for elevated obstacles and zip lines reaching up to 18m above the ground.
Arrive 30 minutes before your session to check in and prepare. An instructor will fit your harness, explain the safety system and make sure you know how to use the equipment before you leave the ground.
You begin on the introductory trek to practise the equipment and get a feel for the obstacles. Once ready, progress onto the main course, where balancing elements, traverses and zip lines weave through the tree canopy.
The course rewards steady focus rather than speed, so take time to work through each challenge. Finish near the kit area, where an instructor removes your harness and you can enjoy the park after the adventure.
Heaton Park provides a leafy outdoor escape close to Manchester, with trees and green space creating a woodland setting for the course. It feels a long way from the city while remaining easy to reach from across Greater Manchester.
The historic park has open areas and paths to explore before or after your session. It is an ideal setting for a day that combines active challenge with time outdoors.
No previous high ropes experience is required, but participants should be comfortable with heights and sustained active movement. This course is for ages 7 and over, with a maximum weight of 120kg.
Wear closed toe, flat trainers or boots and clothing that lets you move freely. Children aged 7 to 11 need one participating adult for every three children, while those aged 12 to 17 need a supervising adult on site.
The progressive route lets participants learn the equipment on a lower course before moving into the more elevated challenges. A varied mix of obstacles and zip lines creates a genuine sense of achievement without a rigid race to the finish.
Instructors provide the essential fitting and safety support at the start, leaving you to enjoy the challenge at your own pace. The city park setting makes a memorable high ropes day feel refreshingly close to home.

Completion time varies with the pace of the group and how long you take at each obstacle. The focus is on working through the course safely rather than rushing.
This course is suitable for ages 7 and over. Participants must weigh below 120kg and be comfortable with heights and active movement.
No previous high ropes experience is needed. You will first use the introductory trek to get familiar with the equipment and obstacles.
Children aged 7 to 11 need one participating adult aged 18 or over for every three children. The adult joins them on the course.
Participants aged 12 to 17 need a supervising adult aged 18 or over for every seven young people. That adult can supervise from the ground.
Wear comfortable clothing that suits the weather and allows full movement. Layers work well for an outdoor activity in the trees.
Closed toe, flat shoes such as trainers or boots are required. Open toe shoes, high heels, crocs and flip flops are not suitable.
The introductory trek is the first part of the experience. It gives you a chance to practise with your equipment and learn how the obstacles feel.
Complete it before moving onto the full course. This gradual start helps participants build confidence for the higher challenges.
The main course reaches heights of up to 18m in the trees. The height is part of the challenge, alongside the varied obstacles and zip lines.
Move steadily and take time at each feature. If you need practical help, an instructor is available to provide guidance.
Gloves are recommended for this adventure but are not compulsory. You may bring your own pair if you prefer extra grip and comfort.
Make sure any gloves are practical for handling the safety equipment. Avoid loose accessories that could interfere with the course.
Consider the physical demands before joining the course. Anyone with an injury or health condition that could affect balance, grip or movement should not take part.
If you are unsure about your circumstances, seek appropriate advice before travelling. The team can offer practical guidance about the activity on arrival.
Dress for the conditions because the course is outdoors. The team will assess conditions on the day and share any operational updates if needed.
Bring suitable layers to stay comfortable before and after your session. Avoid clothing that could catch or restrict easy movement.
A separate Mini Trek is available for younger or less experienced adventurers who want a shorter high ropes challenge. It offers a gentler introduction to obstacles and zip lines.
For this location, refer to Mini Trek PSD3Z0. Choose that option if the full course feels like more than your group needs.
