Stretching from Loch Insh to Spey Bay, this trip offers a unique combination of serene landscapes, thrilling paddling sections, and abundant wildlife. Guided by expert expedition leader Stuart, you'll experience the adventure of a lifetime as you navigate the river's twists and turns, camp along its banks, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Scottish Highlands.
The River Spey is renowned as Scotland’s most spectacular canoeing river. Starting at Loch Insh in the Cairngorms National Park, the journey follows the river’s winding course through diverse landscapes, from tranquil woodlands to dynamic estuaries. The expedition ends at the river’s mouth at Spey Bay, where the freshwater meets the North Sea.
Accommodation is in the form of wild camping along the riverbank. Each night, we’ll select a scenic spot to set up camp, ensuring a peaceful and immersive wilderness experience. Participants will need to bring their own camping equipment, but support and guidance will be provided throughout.
