Come along on a weekend of advanced canoeing with our Open Water Weekender. Designed for those with intermediate paddling experience, this two-day event offers a unique opportunity to enhance your skills in force 3/4 winds on open water. Whether you’re looking to refine your technique or tackle more challenging conditions, this weekend is crafted to elevate your canoeing abilities while enjoying the natural surroundings.
The weekend begins at 08:30 each day with a meeting at Ardvonnie Car Park in Kingussie. After a brief introduction and safety briefing, you'll set out on the water for a full day of coaching. Our experienced guides will lead you through advanced canoeing techniques designed to handle force 3/4 winds.
Throughout the day, you’ll engage in practical exercises and challenges tailored to improving your skills in open water conditions. This includes practising navigation, enhancing paddling efficiency, and managing the dynamics of strong winds. There will be regular breaks for lunch and refreshments, with time allocated for individual questions and feedback.
We aim to return to Kingussie by 15:30 each day for a comprehensive debriefing session. This time allows you to reflect on the day's activities, discuss what you've learned, and address any queries. Make sure to come prepared with all necessary gear and a readiness to tackle new challenges in a supportive and instructive environment.
