The Langdale 6 guided group hike offers an exciting opportunity to explore the Langdale Valley's six stunning peaks. It’s an ideal route for intermediate hikers who enjoy a good challenge and wish to experience the Lake District's incredible mountain scenery. Led by experienced guides, this hike will take you across diverse terrain, including rocky paths and steep ascents, ensuring a fulfilling and safe adventure.
You’ll begin your adventure from Stickle Ghyll Car Park in Great Langdale, setting off at 8am to tackle six of the most renowned peaks in the area: Sargeant Man, Thunacar Knott, Pavey Ark, Harrison Pike, Pike of Stickle, and Loft Crag. Along the way, your guide will offer insights into the area’s natural history and share helpful tips to navigate the rocky and steep terrain.
The route is perfect for those looking to test their fitness with a combination of challenging ascents and descents, all while enjoying the fantastic mountain views of the Lake District. Expect to finish by around 3pm, having covered 10km of some of the most famous hiking ground in the region.
Please be aware that there are no toilets at the meeting point or along the route. However, there are facilities available in Ambleside or Keswick. A small group size ensures a personalised experience, with the minimum number of participants being three. If this minimum isn't met, alternative arrangements will be made.

This hike is suitable for participants who are comfortable with a 10km walk, which includes some challenging uphill and downhill sections. A reasonable fitness level is required, as the hike involves a mix of rocky terrain and steep ascents.
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, it is essential to inform the guide beforehand to ensure a safe and fun experience.
Tom, the founder of the centre, is a qualified Mountain Leader with over twenty years of experience in hill walking, scrambling, and mountaineering. His deep connection with the Lake District ensures that he can offer both an informative and enjoyable experience for all participants. Oli, another member of the team, is also a certified Mountain Leader with a passion for guiding in the Lake District, ensuring that every hike is tailored to the needs of the group.
