Yoga and Paddleboarding through adventure Paddleboarding was fantastic! A great experience as part of my sister’s hen do. Lucy was upbeat, had brilliant knowledge to help up with equipment and took some brilliant photos of us on the water!

Take to the water for a relaxed yet adventurous paddle around Loch Lomond’s islands, starting from the sandy shores of Luss Beach. Glide across calm waters, explore secluded bays, and visit the famous islands — including Inchconnachan, home to its unique wallaby population. It’s a great mix of exploration, nature, and gentle paddling, perfect for those looking to enjoy Scotland’s wild beauty from the water.
After meeting your instructor at Luss Beach, you’ll be kitted out with all the gear you need — paddleboard, buoyancy aid, and wetsuit. A full safety briefing and quick introduction to paddling techniques make sure everyone feels confident before setting off. The water here is calm and perfect for beginners, making it an ideal setting for first-time paddlers and families alike.
Once on the loch, you’ll begin your journey towards the islands scattered across the southern end of Loch Lomond. Depending on conditions, your route may include visits to Inchtavannach, Inchconnachan, or Inchmoan — each with its own character and charm. Expect stretches of peaceful paddling between islands, the occasional sheltered bay where you can take a break, and opportunities to learn about the area’s wildlife and local legends from your guide.
You might spot ospreys fishing overhead, deer grazing along the shoreline, or, if you’re lucky, the famous wallabies that have lived on Inchconnachan for decades. With plenty of time to stop for photos and take in the scenery, this trip balances relaxation with adventure. After paddling back to Luss Beach, you’ll have the chance to dry off, chat with your group, and enjoy the sense of calm that comes from a few hours spent on the loch.
The session begins at Luss Beach on Loch Lomond, one of Scotland’s most loved freshwater locations. Known for its clear waters and backdrop of mountains, this area offers safe, accessible paddling routes and excellent conditions for both beginners and those with some experience.
Luss itself is a picturesque village with facilities, cafés, and easy parking close to the beach. It’s a convenient and scenic starting point, giving you access to some of the loch’s most beautiful islands without long paddles or tricky launches.
No prior paddleboarding experience is required — this session is designed to be approachable and enjoyable for all skill levels. Instructors will help you get comfortable standing, paddling, and manoeuvring before heading further out.
You should be comfortable around water and able to swim a short distance in the unlikely event of a fall. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids, and safety checks ensure the activity is run with full consideration for your comfort and confidence.
This centre specialises in relaxed, small-group SUP adventures that make the most of Scotland’s lochs. The instructors are patient, experienced, and passionate about helping people discover new parts of Loch Lomond safely and confidently.
Their approach balances fun and exploration, giving paddlers plenty of freedom to enjoy the scenery while feeling supported throughout. Every session is carefully planned around weather, water conditions, and group ability to ensure the best possible experience.
You’ll need to come prepared for time on the water, so make sure to bring essentials that keep you comfortable before, during, and after your session. A towel and a full change of clothes are recommended in case you get wet, along with swimwear or trunks to wear under a wetsuit. It’s also a good idea to wear shoes that can get wet or bring a spare pair for afterwards.
Snacks and drinks will help keep your energy up, especially on longer sessions. If you take any medication, please ensure you have it with you on the day. And, most importantly, bring a sense of adventure and a willingness to have fun—this makes all the difference on the water.
These activities are open to participants aged 10 and above. This ensures everyone taking part can safely handle the equipment and enjoy the experience. The sessions are designed to be inclusive and family-friendly while still maintaining the right level of supervision and safety for younger participants.
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian either on the water with them or nearby at the viewing point for the duration of the session. This policy may vary slightly depending on the specific activity or location, but safety and supervision are always the top priority.
All sessions depend on the weather and water conditions to make sure they’re safe and fun for everyone involved. In the case of strong winds, heavy rain, or unsafe water levels, sessions may need to be postponed or moved to a more sheltered location. The decision will always be made with your safety in mind.
If a session has to be rescheduled or relocated, you’ll be contacted in advance with as much notice as possible. The team keeps a close eye on forecasts and conditions, and any changes will be clearly communicated so that you can plan your day with confidence.
The full session lasts up to 3.5 hours, including briefing, time on the water, and short breaks between islands. The pace is relaxed, with stops for rest and photos built into the plan. Depending on conditions and group experience, you’ll typically visit two or three islands during the trip.
Each route is adjusted slightly on the day to make the most of calm weather and safe conditions, ensuring you have an enjoyable time on the loch. The instructor will guide the group at a comfortable pace and make sure everyone is ready before moving between sections.
Not at all — beginners are completely welcome. The session starts with a clear introduction on the beach, where your guide will explain how to balance, paddle, and steer your board. Once you’re on the water, they’ll stay close to help with any adjustments and tips.
If you’ve never tried SUP before, this route is one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to start. Calm water, short crossings, and constant support make it accessible while still giving you that sense of real adventure.
The route varies depending on weather and wind direction, but common stops include Inchtavannach, Inchmoan, and Inchconnachan. Each offers something different — sandy beaches for a rest stop, wooded trails for a short walk, or chances to spot wildlife.
Your guide will decide the best route on the day for comfort and safety, but every trip includes at least two island visits and plenty of time to explore the loch’s peaceful coves and clear shallows.
Yes. If you have your own SUP and equipment, you’re welcome to bring it along at a reduced rate. Just make sure it’s suitable for open-water paddling and in good working condition.
Your instructor will check your leash, buoyancy aid, and fins before launching to make sure everything meets the safety standards required for this type of session.
This part of Loch Lomond is known for its variety of birdlife and mammals. You might see ospreys fishing, herons wading near the banks, or swans gliding through the quieter inlets.
One of the highlights for many paddlers is the chance to see the wallabies on Inchconnachan — a small colony that has lived there for decades. They’re shy, so sightings aren’t guaranteed, but it’s always exciting to keep an eye out while paddling near the island.
