Enhance your mountain biking prowess by mastering some of the UK's most challenging terrains. Whether you aim to boost your downhill or enduro performance, this coaching session will equip you with the skills to conquer steep and technical descents. With guidance from our experienced coach, Michael, you'll gain confidence and expertise in tackling difficult trails.
All riders are required to complete the Basecamp MTB Course, before this course. Regardless of experience, most riders who haven’t had coaching before aren’t aware of some of the fundamental skills needed to progress on technical terrain. The Basecamp course will ensure you are comfortable & competent in these skills.
This is an advanced course aimed at improving your riding on technical trails. You need to be regularly riding a wide range of black graded bike park trails & natural trails, to get the most out of this course.
During this three-hour session, you'll receive tailored coaching from Michael, who brings a wealth of experience from elite-level racing across various cycling disciplines. The session begins with an assessment of your current skills, ensuring the coaching is personalised to your needs. You'll start by learning how to maintain balance and control while cornering on slippery surfaces. As the session progresses, you'll practice flowing through rough terrain, mastering rock features, and handling drops and jumps with confidence.
The training will also cover techniques for managing very steep trails, with a focus on discipline-specific tactics that can be applied to cross country, downhill, and enduro races. Throughout the session, Michael's rider-centred approach will ensure that you receive individual attention and feedback, helping you to make significant improvements in your technical descending abilities.
The course takes place at Greno Woods and Wharncliffe Woods, known for their challenging MTB trails. These locations provide an ideal setting for practising technical descents, with a variety of black graded trails and off-piste areas. Meet at the Grenoside Woods car park (S35 8RS) to begin your adventure.
