Are you ready to dive into a magical underwater world? Our combined Mermaid and Ocean Mermaid course offers a unique two-day experience where you can learn to swim like a mermaid in both the pool and open waters. These courses are designed to help you become comfortable in the water, improve your swimming skills, and enjoy the beauty of mermaiding.
On the first day, you will join the SSI Mermaid programme, which begins with a classroom session in Porthkerris where you'll learn about the basics of mermaiding, including safety procedures and equipment handling.
This is followed by practical training in the pool, where you will develop your swimming techniques and become comfortable using the mermaid tail. The pool sessions are designed to increase your underwater confidence and help you maximise your mermaid experience.
The second day is dedicated to the SSI Ocean Mermaid programme, which takes your skills to the next level with sessions held at the beach and in the sea at Porthkerris Cove. After a brief classroom review, you will head to the open water, where you'll apply your mermaid skills in a natural environment.
This programme is weather-dependent, ensuring safe and enjoyable conditions for all participants. The open water sessions provide a unique opportunity to explore and experience the ocean as a mermaid, enhancing your comfort and proficiency in diverse underwater settings.
Participants must be comfortable swimmers in good health. You need to be able to swim 200m without stopping and to be able to fill in our prerequisite medical form. You can view this form in the FAQs on this page.
We provide a safe and supportive environment with small class sizes to ensure personalised attention.
Our experienced instructors are dedicated to making your mermaid experience memorable and enjoyable, offering high-quality training and a welcoming atmosphere.
