Join a guided boat adventure along one of the most beautiful stretches of the Estérel coastline, where red volcanic cliffs meet clear Mediterranean waters. Combining coastal exploration and snorkelling, this experience offers the chance to discover hidden coves, marine life, and spectacular scenery away from the busier parts of the Riviera.
Beginning at the port of Agay, you'll board a semi-rigid boat and set course for the wild coves of Anthéor and the waters surrounding Île des Vieilles. As you travel along the coastline, you'll pass dramatic red rock formations, secluded inlets, and stretches of coastline that can only truly be appreciated from the sea. The journey offers plenty of opportunities to take in the scenery while learning more about this unique section of the French Riviera.
Upon reaching the snorkelling area, your guide will provide a safety briefing before helping you get ready to enter the water. Equipped with a mask, snorkel, and fins, you'll explore the coastline from the surface while accompanied by a certified instructor. The clear waters and rocky seabed create excellent conditions for observing marine life and discovering the underwater landscapes of the Mediterranean.
While snorkelling, you may spot seabream, wrasse, damselfish, sea urchins, starfish, octopus, and the Posidonia seagrass meadows that play an important role in the local ecosystem. With small group numbers and a relaxed pace, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings, ask questions, and make the most of your time both on and in the water.
Surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of the Estérel Massif, Anthéor is one of the most scenic parts of the coastline between Saint-Raphaël and Cannes. The area is known for its untouched feel, striking red volcanic rocks, and crystal-clear waters that create ideal conditions for snorkelling and boat excursions.
Just offshore, Île des Vieilles sits amongst rocky outcrops and sheltered waters that support a variety of marine species. Away from crowded beaches and busy resorts, this part of the coastline offers a more natural setting where you can appreciate the beauty of both the underwater world and the surrounding coastal scenery.
You should be comfortable swimming or floating in open water, although no previous snorkelling experience is needed. The activity is suitable for beginners, and full guidance is provided before entering the sea.
Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. All you need is a sense of adventure and a willingness to explore beneath the surface.
Guided by certified instructors, this experience goes beyond a simple boat trip by giving you the opportunity to explore the marine environment with expert support in the water. Small group sizes help create a friendly atmosphere and allow guides to provide more individual attention throughout the excursion.
Dedicated to safety and quality experiences, the team carefully selects snorkelling locations based on conditions and visibility. The result is a memorable outing that combines wildlife spotting, coastal discovery, and time in some of the clearest waters along the French Riviera.
Yes. You don't need any previous snorkelling experience to enjoy this excursion. Before entering the water, your guide will explain how to use the equipment, what you'll be doing during the session, and how to stay comfortable while snorkelling.
Because the instructor accompanies the group in the water, you'll always have someone nearby to offer guidance and answer questions. This makes it a great introduction to snorkelling for first-time visitors.
Anthéor is known for its wild and unspoilt character. The coastline features red volcanic cliffs, small hidden coves, and clear waters that provide excellent visibility for snorkelling.
Unlike some busier coastal areas, Anthéor feels more natural and remote. Exploring the area by boat allows you to reach locations that many visitors never get to see from land.
The waters around Anthéor and Île des Vieilles support a variety of Mediterranean species. Depending on conditions, you may encounter seabream, wrasse, damselfish, starfish, sea urchins, and octopus.
Every outing is different, which adds to the excitement of the experience. The guide will help identify species and explain more about the underwater ecosystem as you explore.
A large portion of the excursion is dedicated to enjoying the water and exploring the snorkelling area. The exact time spent snorkelling depends on sea conditions and the pace of the group.
The experience is designed to feel relaxed rather than rushed, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the marine environment and take in the scenery around you.
Yes. The combination of coastal sightseeing and easy-access snorkeling makes this excursion popular with families looking for an outdoor activity together.
Even younger guests often enjoy the boat journey itself, with opportunities to see the coastline from a completely different perspective before entering the water.
Your guide joins you in the water throughout the snorkelling session. This creates a safer and more interactive experience than simply being dropped off at a snorkelling location.
Having the instructor alongside the group means you'll receive support whenever needed and have someone available to point out marine life and interesting underwater features.
You should bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, and drinking water. A light jacket can also be useful for the boat journey, particularly outside the warmest months.
All snorkelling equipment is provided, so you only need to bring personal items and anything you would normally take for a day by the sea.
