Discover one of the most protected and scenic areas of the Estérel coastline on a guided snorkelling adventure by boat. Combining coastal exploration, marine wildlife, and crystal-clear waters, this longer excursion gives you more time to experience the natural beauty of the Mediterranean.
Heading out from the port of Agay, you'll travel by semi-rigid boat towards the Cap Roux Marine Reserve, an area known for its protected waters, red volcanic cliffs, and rich marine environment. As the coastline unfolds around you, your guide will share insights into the natural history of the Estérel and the importance of preserving this unique ecosystem.
Arriving at the snorkelling site, you'll receive a full safety briefing before entering the water with your instructor. Equipped with mask, snorkel, and fins, you'll have the chance to explore a protected section of coastline where marine life thrives amongst rocky reefs and underwater seagrass meadows. The clear conditions often provide excellent visibility, allowing you to appreciate the colours and diversity beneath the surface.
With extra time compared to shorter snorkelling trips, you'll be able to explore more of the area at a relaxed pace. Keep an eye out for seabream, wrasse, damselfish, sea urchins, starfish, octopus, and other Mediterranean species as you glide through the water. Between snorkelling sessions, you'll also have the opportunity to admire the dramatic scenery of Cap Roux from the boat, creating a memorable experience both above and below the surface.
Bordered by striking volcanic cliffs and protected natural landscapes, Cap Roux is considered one of the highlights of the Estérel coastline. Its combination of clear waters, rugged scenery, and limited development has helped preserve the area's natural character, making it a fantastic destination for snorkelling and wildlife observation.
Within the marine reserve, healthy underwater habitats support a wide range of Mediterranean species. The contrast between the red rock formations and turquoise waters creates a spectacular setting, while the protected status of the area helps maintain excellent conditions for exploring the underwater world.
You should be comfortable swimming or floating in open water, although previous snorkelling experience isn't required. Full instruction is provided, making the tour suitable for beginners and experienced snorkelers alike.
Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. A basic level of confidence in the water is all that's needed to enjoy this experience.
Specialising in small-group adventures, the team focuses on creating a more personal and enjoyable experience both on the boat and in the water. With certified instructors accompanying you throughout the snorkelling session, you'll benefit from expert guidance while discovering the area's marine life and protected habitats.
Committed to safety, education, and environmental awareness, the guides aim to help guests gain a deeper appreciation for the Mediterranean ecosystem. The longer duration and access to a protected marine reserve make this an excellent choice for anyone looking to get more from their time on the water.
