A snowmobile pulls your private sledge across a frozen lake to a sauna sitting on the ice, and you ride as a passenger rather than a driver. About two hours includes the crossing and time in the heat, with an optional lake dip if you want one. Daylight bookings are for winter sun on the snow, or evening if you would rather finish in the dark.
Wrapped up at pickup in Levi, guests sit on the sledge, with no driving lesson because the snowmobile does the work across the ice until the sauna appears. Towels and drinking water are waiting inside, so you change at the cabin rather than packing a full spa bag. Once you are in, you sit in the heat and step out for cold air when you like.
Short plunges and a scramble back in suit some people, and others skip the ice altogether, which is a normal way to spend the visit. When you are ready, the same sledge takes you home. Book daylight for winter sun on the snow, or evening if you would rather finish in the dark; you might see the northern lights on an evening visit, though they are not guaranteed.
Frozen lakes near Levi hold the sauna, reached across the ice rather than by a van along a lakeside track. Crossing the frozen surface until the cabin comes into view is why the sledge ride is part of the visit rather than a short walk from a car park. Levi is a winter resort in Finnish Lapland, and the lake sits close enough that about two hours can hold the crossing and time in the heat.
Dark finishes belong to evening visits, and daytime visits are about winter light on the snow, so pick the slot that matches what you want. Frozen lake itself, not a hotel spa looking at ice through a window, is where you are. Cabins sit on that ice, with the return sledge using the same crossing you came out on.
Swimsuits and a warm layer belong in the bag for the minutes on the sledge, even if you think you will skip the dip, because you will still be in a sauna. No sauna experience is needed, and the dip is optional. Children from age four are welcome with an adult, in a private group of one to four.
Skipping the water is fine, and if anyone would rather stay in the heat, tell us when you book so the two hours can sit there. Driving licences are not needed, because you travel as a passenger on the sledge. Pack the warm layer for the crossing, not for wearing in the room, because the sledge is cold before you reach the sauna.
Lake saunas are yours alone, and the sledge ride is how you get there rather than a separate snowmobile lesson. Towels and drinking water are on site, so you pack a swimsuit and a warm layer and we handle the rest, including collection from your stay. Driving never happens on this visit, which is why there is no licence check.
Daytime and evening are different slots, so you book the light you actually want rather than hoping the visit runs into the night. Lake dips are there if you want them, and staying in the heat is equally fine. Same sledge that takes you out brings you home, with the same team from pickup to drop-off.
We collect you in Levi and settle you on the sledge. The snowmobile pulls while you watch the ice open ahead. Wrap up warmly for those minutes, then change at the lakeside room. There is no driving briefing because this ride is how you get there, not a snowmobile lesson.
The private room, towels, and drinking water await. Sit in the heat, step outside for cold air, and take a short plunge in the lake if you want one. If nobody is going in, the time stays in the warmth, at a pace that suits the smallest guest in your party of up to four.
Back on the same sledge to the accommodation you left from. A daytime booking finishes in the winter light. An evening booking finishes in the dark, whether the lights appeared or not. Drop-off uses your Levi address so you can step indoors quickly after the cold ride.
About two hours, including the sledge ride across the frozen lake both ways. You sit as a passenger while the snowmobile takes you to the sauna and home again.
Daytime and evening are different slots. Evening is the darker visit with a chance of northern lights. Daytime is winter light on the ice. Pick the one you mean when you book.
No. The plunge is there in the lake, and plenty of people stay in the heat. Bring a swimsuit either way, because you will still be in a sauna. Towels and drinking water are on site.
If the whole group will skip the water, say so when you book. We will spend the time on the ride and the warmth instead.
This is private for one to four people, so it suits a couple or a small family. Four is the minimum age, and an adult stays with children. The dip is only if they want it.
A fifth guest does not fit this sauna. Tell us your headcount when you enquire and we will be honest about what we can take.
We collect you in Levi, put you on the sledge, and the snowmobile does the work. You never hunt for the lake, and you never drive.
Send your address and a mobile number. Evening pickups are after dark, so we need a number you will actually answer.
Cancel at least 72 hours before the start for a full refund. Inside that window, or on a no-show, the private sauna and sledge stay charged.
If the ice will not take the sledge, we will not send you out. That call comes to the mobile on your booking.
Only the evening slot is aimed at the lights, and even then the sky is never guaranteed. A cloudy evening is still a sledge ride and a sauna on the lake. Daytime bookings are for winter light, not aurora.
Daytime and evening are different reservations. If the forecast improves, we cannot quietly move a daytime visit into the night.
A swimsuit under a warm layer for the ride out. You change at the sauna. Towels and drinking water are already there.
The sledge is cold before you reach the heat. Those extra layers are for the crossing, not for wearing in the room.
No. You are a passenger on the sledge the whole way. The snowmobile is how we reach the sauna, not a driving lesson.
That is why there is no licence check on this visit. Wrap up, sit tight, and enjoy the ice opening in front of you.
There is no meal on this visit. Eat before you come if you want food around the slot, especially on an evening that might sit before or after dinner.
Drinking water is at the sauna. It is there to keep you comfortable between rounds, not as a drinks menu.
Names, children's ages, your Levi address, a mobile number, and whether you want daytime or evening. Note who will skip the dip so we can pace the two hours around the heat.
If you have a tight window between other plans, tell us. Pickup and the crossing both sit inside the time you book.
