Yes, you should have completed the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course or have equivalent experience. This course builds on foundational skills.
Yes, the course includes a practical night navigation exercise to develop your skills in night-time powerboat handling.
The course covers advanced navigation techniques, but having basic knowledge from the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course or equivalent is beneficial.
You will be assessed on your practical skills and knowledge throughout the course. Successful completion will earn you the RYA Powerboat Intermediate certificate.
We aim to proceed with the course in most conditions using our closed-top training vessel. However, extreme weather may require rescheduling for safety reasons.
Typically, we use our fully equipped training vessel to ensure a consistent learning experience. However, if you prefer to use your own boat, please discuss this with us when booking.
Accommodation is not included, but we can recommend local options if you need a place to stay. Please enquire during booking.

Great experience. Very knowledgeable instructor. On enclosed boats so really made a difference in early March, plus closer to what I currently have.

Jason and Steven were very helpful in training me, despite the bad weather we had on the day. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to become a powerboat captain.
Nice day learning how to drive a motorboat, friendly and helpful instructors, will be booking my intermediate soon.
Jason was an excellent tutor - spot on with health and safety such practicing ‘man over board’ and giving patient instruction on how to berth without ramming the pontoon too hard (especially in the wind which was fierce at times).
The best time ever !!! I would happily pay again to have this training session with Jason
