What to Expect
Your canoeing adventure begins in Innerleithen, where you will get into stable, spacious canoes that make the paddling experience easy and comfortable for everyone. Whether you're new to canoeing or have some experience, the session is relaxed and your instructor will provide all the guidance you need. The journey down the river is smooth, with a few turns, making it an easy pace for participants to enjoy.
As you paddle, you’ll pass through quiet, natural landscapes, with views of hills and woodlands along the river. The session is not rushed, so there will be plenty of time to take in the scenery. About halfway through, you’ll stop for a break, so bring some food and drinks. After about three hours, you’ll finish in Glenkinnon. If you have transport arranged, you can head straight back, but if not, we can assist with transport options.
Location
The River Tweed runs through the Scottish Borders, an area known for its quiet, rural landscapes. Starting in Innerleithen, a small town with a strong outdoor activity culture, the route follows the river downstream to Glenkinnon.
Along the way, you’ll see peaceful countryside, forests, and open fields. It’s a straightforward and calm setting that allows you to relax while enjoying the fresh air and peaceful environment. The trip ends at Glenkinnon Park, specifically in the Glenkinnon car park. This location offers easy access for vehicles and nearby facilities, making it a practical and straightforward point to conclude the day.
Please note: The guide can transport up to five people back to the meeting point at the end of the trip to collect their car if needed.
