Beside the pilot you take a private 20-minute gyrocopter flight over Dubai, in a light aircraft that holds one passenger. The crew brief you on the ground, then you look out over the Palm, the marina and the coast from about 1,500 feet.
When you arrive at the airfield you'll check in at the desk with photo ID, then we'll walk you through the aircraft, the harness and the seat beside the pilot. Some gyrocopters have doors and some do not, so the view opens up once you are airborne, and the ground team will not send you to the craft until the paperwork is complete.
You'll climb to about 1,500 feet on a circuit that looks toward Ain Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis, Burj Al Arab, The World islands, Dubai Marina and JBR. The pilot calls landmarks when it is safe to talk on the headset, and you stay seated for the whole loop until the rotor settles.
Your gyrocopter flight leaves from a Dubai airfield with clear circuits over the Palm, the marina skyline, the World islands and the open Gulf from about 1,500 feet. Some aircraft have doors and some do not, so the view is wide once you are up, with landmarks called on the headset when it is safe to talk.
Bring photo ID to the desk. Do not travel to the Sharjah office, and allow a few minutes beyond the airborne clock for the brief and the walk to the craft.
You'll need to be at least 17 and able to show photo ID. No flying experience is required. Follow the brief and stay seated until the pilot says you may stand.
Boarding is a short step up from the apron. Follow the brief and stay seated with your harness fastened until the crew says you may stand.
Gyrocopter flights are timed at the airfield with ID check, harness, and a seat beside the pilot before taxi. Some aircraft fly open-door for the views you booked, and we'll send a pickup window that matches your flight slot when hotel collection is included in your booking.
The circuit reaches about 1,500 feet with landmarks called on the headset when it is safe to talk. We send pad or pickup detail ahead of time, and we update you if visibility keeps the craft on the ground.
Please meet us at the Dubai airfield unless your booking includes hotel collection. The pad address is sent to you beforehand. If hotel collection is included in your booking, please wait in your hotel lobby at the time we send you. Do not travel to the Sharjah office.
You'll meet at the Dubai airfield unless your booking includes hotel collection. The exact pad is sent to you beforehand, because the departure depends on the morning's weight sheet and the wind.
Please arrive with time for the brief. A gyrocopter seats one passenger with the pilot, so late arrival can mean you miss that rotation.
Hotel transfer may be available as an add-on at checkout. We'll send your start time and whether collection is included before your day.
If you're making your own way, come to the meeting point we send you. Public transport and taxis serve the area.
The flight itself is about 20 minutes. Time on the ground for the brief and the walk to the aircraft sits around that, so allow a little more than the airborne clock.
The aircraft holds one passenger and the pilot. You are not sharing the cockpit with another guest.
You'll need to be at least 12 years old. Anyone under 18 should arrive with an adult who can complete the paperwork at the airfield.
Please bring photo ID to the desk. The crew assigns seats so the aircraft stays balanced, so you cannot always choose the seat you want.
No flying experience is required. You sit as a passenger while the pilot flies. Before take-off they show you the aircraft and explain the controls so you know what you are looking at, then you sit back for the circuit.
Please follow the brief on harness, headset, and when you may use a camera. Loose hats stay on the ground.
The route looks out over Ain Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis, Burj Al Arab, The World islands, Dubai Marina and JBR, from about 1,500 feet. Some aircraft have doors and some do not, so the view is open.
The exact line depends on air traffic. The pilot will point out landmarks when it is safe to talk.
Flights need clear enough weather to take off. Strong wind, low cloud, or poor visibility can delay or stop a rotation.
If the crew cannot fly, we will contact you with the next step. That decision sits with the pilot on the day.
We recommend wearing closed shoes and clothes you can sit in with a headset on. Bring sunglasses and a camera with a strap so nothing can leave your hand in the air.
Leave large bags in the transfer vehicle or at the desk. Follow the crew on phones during take-off and landing.
The cockpit is pilot plus one. The ground party can be up to five, but only one passenger sits in the aircraft at a time, so two people do not share the same flight.
If two people confirm, they fly as two successive 20-minute flights rather than together in the same aircraft. The rest of the group waits on the ground for their turn.
Tell the crew at the brief. Some gyrocopters have doors and some do not, so they can talk you through which craft you have before anyone walks to the skids.
You stay harnessed for the whole 20 minutes. The view is open on purpose, and the pilot would rather you know that on the ground than discover it in the air.
