The guide is yours. The cove and the pace follow your group, and the minimum age drops to six. That helps families and people who want more or fewer jumps than an open slot.

The kit, the photos and the three-hour shape are the same. If everyone is 10 or over and you are happy sharing, the open group is the cheaper option.

We tell you the day before. The pin on the listing is The Lizard square, TR12 7NJ, but the session runs from Church Cove, Mullion Cove, Bass Point or Predannack.

The message includes directions and parking. Wait for that note rather than driving to a cove you have guessed.

From two people up to 16. Tell us the headcount and ages when you book so we can put the right number of guides on the rocks.

The booking starts at two because a private session is priced from that minimum. If your headcount changes after you book, send a message so we still have the right number of boards, boats or suits.

Six. We check ages before the session. Under-18s can join without a parent in the water if a consent form is signed.

The route stays with the youngest or least confident person so a mixed family can still share one booking.

No. Jumps are optional and usually have a low, mid and higher choice. You can swim around anything you do not want to do.

A private booking makes it easier to skip a lot of jumping without holding up an open group.

Lace-up trainers or thick-soled wetsuit boots. Flip-flops, sandals and thin beach shoes are not accepted. Without proper shoes we cannot take you, and we cannot refund that.

Old trainers you do not mind getting wet are the simplest option. If you are unsure whether your shoes will pass, bring an old pair of lace-up trainers as well.

Yes. You need to be a confident swimmer in open water. A buoyancy aid is on the whole time, but you still swim between features.

If someone is nervous, say so when you book. We will keep that person on easier ground. If anyone in the booking is unsure, tell us when you book rather than waiting until you are already at the water.

Rain does not cancel a session. We move or cancel when the swell or wind makes the chosen cove unsafe. Another Lizard spot is the first option.

If we cancel, we rearrange. The day-before message is also when we confirm the sea is usable.

No. Glasses and jewellery stay off. Contact lenses or prescription goggles are fine. Leave valuables in the car.

The guide can hold medication in a dry bag if you need it on the route. If you need to see clearly, contact lenses or prescription goggles are the workable options.

Yes. The guide carries a waterproof camera and shares the pictures with your group afterwards.

We cannot promise a shot of every jump. The priority is the route and the people in it. Ask the guide at the end how the pictures will be sent, as that can change with the size of the group.
