Two days either side of the trek are spent travelling between Kathmandu and Pokhara, with the trekking itself running from Nayapul through Ulleri and Ghorepani to Poon Hill before descending via Hile back to the road.
Hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara are comfortable three-star or better properties with private bathrooms, while the two nights on the trail are spent in simple guesthouses with twin rooms, shared facilities and a heated common room for the evenings. Blankets are provided at every guesthouse, and the modest maximum altitude on this route keeps the nights noticeably milder than higher up the trail.
Complete beginners are well supported on this itinerary, which pairs an easy-paced trail with proper city time in Kathmandu and Pokhara on either side. Guides are experienced at pacing the trip around the group and helping first-timers settle in quickly.
Transport, permits and guesthouse bookings are all confirmed ahead of departure, so nothing needs arranging once the trip begins.

Ulleri and Ghorepani sit on the lower slopes of the Annapurna range within a belt of rhododendron and oak forest, home to Magar communities whose stone-roofed houses line the trail through both villages. Poon Hill itself, just above Ghorepani, is one of the most accessible wide-angle viewpoints in Nepal, with Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre all visible from a single spot reached on a short pre-dawn walk.
Pokhara and Kathmandu bookend the trip and offer a strong contrast to each other, from the temples and markets of the capital, where an airport pickup starts the trip on arrival, to the relaxed lakeside pace of Pokhara beneath the Annapurna skyline.
Hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara are comfortable three-star or better properties with private bathrooms, used on every non-trekking night of the trip. The two nights on the trail itself are spent in simple guesthouses with twin rooms, shared facilities and a heated common room for the evenings.
Blankets are provided at every guesthouse, and the modest maximum altitude on this route keeps the nights noticeably milder than higher up the Annapurna trail. Bags can generally be left securely in Pokhara, so only a smaller daypack is needed for the two nights spent trekking.
