Fly the world’s fastest seated zip line across South Wales at Tower Colliery. Phoenix pairs two zip zones over about 1.5km of line, with four parallel cables in each zone and speeds of up to around 70mph on a visit of up to about 2 hours.
Check in early, then walk to kit-up for harness, helmet, goggles and a safety briefing. A minibus takes you about 10 minutes up the mountain to Alpha, where four parallel 920m lines launch you over Llyn Fawr toward the Rhigos range at around 50mph.
After you land, a short stair walk brings you to Bravo. Clip in again and drop toward the site below at speeds of up to about 70mph, with a strong ground-rush feel as you approach the brakes.
De-kit near reception when you finish. Optional cameras can capture a flight if you want footage to download afterwards.
Tower Colliery sits in a striking post-industrial landscape in the Hirwaun and Rhigos area of South Wales. Alpha opens up big water and mountain views; Bravo keeps you closer to the ground and the site below.
Reception, kit-up and de-kit are organised on one site, so the mountain transfer is part of the adventure rather than a complicated logistics day.
Riders must be at least 1.2m tall and no more than 130kg. Under-18s need one participating adult aged 18+ for every three children.
No prior experience is needed. You should be comfortable with heights, a short stair climb between lines and seated high-speed flight.
Phoenix is built as two distinct flights rather than a single drop: a long scenic Alpha run and a faster Bravo finish claimed as the world’s fastest seated zip.
Parallel lines mean friends can fly together, with clear briefings, fitted kit and a managed mountain transfer so the focus stays on the views and the speed.
Arrive about 30 minutes before your start time and check in at reception so you are ready for kit-up. Use the buffer to sort clothing and valuables before harness fitting.

Once fitted, you head straight outside to the mountain transfer.
Board the minibus for an roughly 10-minute climb to the top of the mountain where Alpha starts. Settle in and enjoy the approach to the first launch platform.
On arrival, the team prepares the four parallel lines for your group.
Clip into Alpha for the longer flight: about 920m over Llyn Fawr with Rhigos mountain views at around 50mph. After the brakes, staff unclip you at the landing.
This is the scenic centrepiece of the two-zone course.
Take the short stair walk up to Bravo, clip in and launch toward the Tower site below at speeds of up to about 70mph. Expect a sharper ground-rush as you near the brakes.
Staff unclip you at the end before you walk to de-kit.
Follow signs to the de-kit area where the team removes your harness and directs you to any camera collection point. That completes the Phoenix circuit.
You finish back near site facilities ready for food or onward plans.

Mountain weather and wind can affect operations on exposed lines. Safety comes first, and sessions may pause or adjust if conditions demand it.

Yes. After Alpha you walk up a few flights of stairs to reach the Bravo start. It is a short transfer but worth knowing if anyone in your group prefers to take stairs slowly.
Staff are on hand at both platforms for clipping and unclipping.
