Learning to scuba dive opens the door to a completely new world beneath the surface. This internationally recognised beginner certification combines theory, practical training, and open water dives, allowing you to gain the skills and confidence needed to dive independently around the world.
Before entering the water, you'll begin with the theory portion of the course. This covers the principles of scuba diving, pressure and depth awareness, equipment operation, safety procedures, and dive planning. Participants can complete the theory in person, at home using study materials, or online before arriving in Mallorca, making the course accessible to different schedules and travel plans.
Following the academic section, practical training takes place in confined water conditions. These sessions are designed to help you become comfortable with your equipment while learning the core skills required for safe diving. Under instructor supervision, you'll practise breathing techniques, mask clearing, buoyancy control, emergency procedures, and underwater communication in a controlled environment.
Completion of the final stage involves four open water dives conducted from a boat. The first two dives reach a maximum depth of 12 metres, while the final dives extend to 18 metres. Throughout these dives, you'll apply everything learned during the theory and pool sessions, gradually building confidence and independence. Once all requirements have been successfully completed, you'll receive your internationally recognised certification, allowing you to dive to 18 metres without an instructor.
Situated on Mallorca's southwest coast, Santa Ponça provides excellent access to a variety of dive sites suitable for training and certification courses. Calm bays, clear waters, and reliable conditions create an ideal environment for developing diving skills while enjoying the marine life found around the island.
Beyond the training areas, the surrounding region offers a mix of beaches, marinas, restaurants, and coastal scenery. The marina serves as a convenient departure point for boat dives, while nearby resorts provide plenty of opportunities to relax between training sessions.
Participants must be able to swim and be at least 10 years old. No previous scuba diving experience is required, making this course suitable for complete beginners.
A medical certificate confirming fitness to practise scuba diving is required before certification. Guidance can be provided regarding local medical facilities if needed.
More than two decades of teaching experience have helped thousands of divers progress from their very first breaths underwater through to professional-level qualifications. Personalised instruction, flexible scheduling, and small training groups ensure that every participant receives the support needed to learn at a comfortable pace.
High-quality equipment, modern teaching materials, boat-based training dives, and internationally recognised certification combine to create a comprehensive learning experience. The goal is not simply to complete a course, but to develop capable and confident divers who can continue exploring the underwater world safely for years to come.
