Sea Kayak Tour from Mousehole, Cornwall

About three hours including changing and the brief, with around two hours on the water. The pace follows the group and the sea, so some parties finish a little sooner.

Arrive 15 minutes early so changing does not eat into the paddle time. If anything about the booking is unclear, send a message before you travel and we will sort it.

South Quay Car Park, The Wharf, Mousehole, TR19 6RT. Kit up there, then launch from the harbour. Toilets and cafes sit in the village.

If Mousehole is not safe we send a new launch such as Mullion or Cadgwith. Check your messages the day before.

No. The first minutes are in the harbour so you can get used to the boat before you leave the shelter. The guide stays with the least confident paddler.

If you already paddle, say so at the start so we are not repeating a first-stroke script. The first minutes are always the slower ones, so there is time to say if you want more coaching or more coast.

Five. Children under 14 share a double kayak with an adult aged 18 or over, unless they can already paddle a single and we agree that on the day.

The adult in the double needs to be a capable paddler, not another young child. Tell us ages when you book so we can put the right people in the right boats or keep a child with an adult.

Both. Singles suit people who want their own boat. Doubles suit pairs, nervous paddlers and children under 14. We help you choose on the day.

All the boats are sit-on-tops, so a capsize is a climb back on rather than a wet exit from a closed cockpit.

Swimwear under a wetsuit, plus trainers, water shoes or wetsuit boots. Flip-flops and bare feet are not accepted. Bring a towel, sunscreen and sunglasses.

We supply the wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet, paddle and kayak. Your own shorty or full-length suit is fine.

Yes. The tour is in open water. A buoyancy aid is on the whole time, but you still need to be comfortable in the sea if you come off the boat.

If you are unsure, say so when you book. We would rather move you to a calmer private slot than have you struggle on an open-coast tour.

Light rain does not cancel a tour. We cancel or move when the wind or swell makes an open-water paddle unsafe. Another launch is the first option.

If we cancel, we rearrange. Message us the day before if you are travelling a long way. If you are driving a long way, check your messages the evening before so you are not on the road before we have confirmed the plan.

Yes. The guide takes pictures during the tour and shares them afterwards. You do not need a phone in the boat.

We cannot promise a shot of every cave. The priority is the group and the sea. Ask the guide at the end how the pictures will be sent, as that can change with the size of the group.

Yes. Solo bookers join other people on the same slot. You will have your own single kayak unless you ask to share.
