This region is a hotspot for adventure activities, and our rock climbing sessions offer something for everyone, whether you are an experienced climber or a complete beginner. With options for sport climbing, trad climbing, and the excitement of sea cliff abseiling, you are sure to have an unforgettable adventure.
Your adventure starts at Spyway Carpark, where you'll meet our friendly and professional instructors. After a quick safety briefing and introduction to the core climbing kit, you'll head to the climbing spots at Dancing Ledge and Headbury Quarry. These locations offer a variety of routes, ensuring that climbers of all levels can find suitable challenges.
You'll begin by learning the basics of climbing techniques, such as finding footholds, body positioning, and experimenting with weight distribution. Our instructors will guide you through belaying, where you'll learn to manage the safety rope for your climbing partner. This crucial skill builds trust and teamwork among participants.
As you progress, you'll have the chance to tackle different climbing routes, each offering unique challenges and rewarding views. For those eager to push their limits, the session includes an opportunity to try sea cliff abseiling. This thrilling descent down the cliffs provides a mix of physical exertion and mental strategy, making it a highlight of the experience.
Private sessions are also available for groups of 6+ participants, which offer more flexibility.
Our climbing and abseiling sessions take place at Spyway Carpark, Durnford Drove, Langton Matravers, Swanage BH19 3HG. The main climbing spots are Dancing Ledge and Headbury Quarry, known for their wave-cut platforms and beautiful views.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your session start time to meet your instructor in the carpark.
Participants must be 12 years or older and possess a moderate level of physical fitness. No prior climbing experience is required, as our instructors will provide all necessary training and support.

Yes, parking is available at the National Trust Spyway carpark. It's a pay-and-display carpark, and we suggest using the grass overflow area if it's open.
The carpark is conveniently located close to our meeting point, ensuring easy access to the climbing spots.

Dancing Ledge and the smaller Headbury Quarry are two wave-cut platforms on the Swanage coast, and this is where we will meet you!
The postcode you’ll need to find the car park is BH19 3HG. You’ll turn down Durnford Drove and continue all the way to the end of the road. At the end of the road, you will see a turning space and a small gravel track continuing forward. This track will take you past Langton House on your left and into the National Trust Spyway car park at the end. If the grass overflow car park is open, we suggest you park in there. The car park is a pay and display, you will meet your instructor in this car park. Please arrive 10-15 mins before your session start time.
Please keep in mind this is an Adventure Outdoor Activity, there are no toilet or changing facilities on site.
