Navigation training offers participants the chance to gain essential skills for confidently exploring the outdoors. Whether you're a beginner or looking to advance your navigation abilities, this session provides practical knowledge and experience in a supportive setting.
This session begins with an introduction to the fundamentals of map reading, including an overview of various map scales and how to interpret key symbols. Participants will learn to orient a map correctly using a compass and understand how to align it with the terrain. As the day progresses, you'll practice plotting routes and navigating through both straightforward and more challenging landscapes.
The hands-on experience is designed to build confidence in navigating unfamiliar areas. You'll gain insights into advanced techniques such as triangulation and resection, particularly useful in poor visibility conditions. Throughout the training, there's a focus on practical application, ensuring you leave with skills that can be directly used in your future adventures.
