Ideal for experienced mountain bikers, this course is tailored to refine your skills on more challenging terrain. Led by Steve, a highly qualified and seasoned coach, this is designed to take your riding technique to the next level with a focus on personalised progression.
The course kicks off with an introduction to bike setup and suspension tuning, helping you to fine-tune your ride for the day ahead. You'll then move on to mastering technical features like jumps and drops, with personalised feedback from Steve, who uses his wealth of knowledge to ensure you're approaching each challenge with the correct form and confidence.
Later, the session dives into cornering techniques, where you'll practise handling different types of turns – from berms to tricky off-camber corners. Throughout the day, Steve will focus on advanced energy management techniques, enabling you to ride more efficiently over rugged terrain, so you can conserve energy and stay in control on demanding trails. By the end of the day, you’ll be tackling advanced terrain with improved flow and confidence.
Located at Coed y Brenin, the course offers the perfect setting with varied terrain to practise the advanced techniques covered.
The area's diverse trails provide everything from technical sections to wide-open descents, allowing for a comprehensive training session.
Riders should have prior mountain biking experience, be comfortable on intermediate trails, and ready to challenge themselves with advanced features.
A solid level of fitness is also required, as the course involves physical exertion over challenging terrain.

Expect to be on the bike for most of the day, covering varied terrain, so stamina and endurance are essential to get the most out of the session.
Yes, we encourage you to bring your own bike, as being familiar with your setup will help with skill development. Make sure it's in good working condition, especially the suspension, brakes, and drivetrain, as these will be tested during the course.
A well-maintained mountain bike with full suspension is ideal for the advanced terrain.
Bike hire is not included in the course, so you'll need to arrange to bring your own bike.
If you don't have access to a suitable bike, you can contact us using the details on your booking confirmation to arrange hire.
In addition to your bike, you’ll need to bring a helmet (mandatory), knee pads, and any other protective gear you're comfortable using.
Hydration packs or water bottles are also recommended, as the course involves a full day of riding.
Mountain biking is an all-weather activity, and the course will run in most conditions. However, in cases of extreme weather that could pose safety risks (e.g., lightning, high winds), the session may be rescheduled.
