This course is perfect for anyone looking to gain confidence and enhance their mountain biking abilities, whether you're brand new to MTB or an experienced rider aiming to refine your skills. With a friendly, personalised approach, your coach Steve, a British Cycling certified instructor with decades of experience, will guide you through the essential techniques needed for safe and enjoyable off-road riding. Each course is tailored to meet your specific needs, offering both one-to-one and group options to ensure your progression.
Over the course of three hours, you will be guided through the foundational skills essential for mountain biking. The session starts with a detailed bike set-up and safety check to ensure your equipment is optimised for the trails. You'll then progress to mastering riding positions, helping you maintain control and confidence on the bike. Steve’s tailored instruction will help you improve your balance and movement, which is key to navigating more technical terrain.
Next, you’ll dive into gear selection for efficient riding and learn how to brake effectively and in a controlled manner, ensuring your descents remain smooth and safe. Climbing and descending techniques will be demonstrated, and you'll practice these on real-world terrain. Cornering, small step ups, and step downs will round out the session, equipping you with all the tools to handle typical trail features with greater ease and confidence.
