This full-day sea trip takes you into one of the most active marine areas in the region, where you can snorkel over coral reefs and look out for sea life in its natural environment. With a private setup and guided support throughout, the day is paced to give you time in the water as well as time to relax on board. Everything is arranged so the focus stays on the sea experience.
Your day begins with a hotel pickup in an air-conditioned vehicle, followed by a transfer to Port Ghalib marina. From there, you’ll board a boat and set sail for around 25 minutes towards Marsa Mubarak, one of the best-known snorkelling spots in the area. Once you arrive, your guide will give a full briefing covering marine life, snorkelling safety, and how to move responsibly in the water.
The first snorkelling session focuses on searching for dugong in the area, with the guide helping you spot them while keeping a respectful distance. You’ll then enter the water for around an hour of guided snorkelling. After this, a freshly prepared lunch is served onboard, giving you time to relax before heading out again for a second snorkelling stop where you may encounter larger sea turtles and more coral formations. Once the final swim is complete, the boat returns to the marina and you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
This experience takes place in Marsa Alam, a coastal area known for its clear waters and rich marine biodiversity along the Red Sea. The snorkelling site at Marsa Mubarak is reached by boat from Port Ghalib marina, located just south of Marsa Alam Airport.
The surrounding coastline is made up of protected marine areas and coral reefs that support a wide range of sea life. Conditions are generally calm, making it a popular spot for snorkelling trips focused on observing marine animals in their natural habitat.
No snorkelling experience is required, as full guidance is provided before entering the water. Life jackets and equipment are supplied, and the guide stays close during all water activities to assist where needed.
Participants should be comfortable spending time in the sea and following safety instructions while snorkelling. Basic swimming ability is helpful but not essential, as flotation support is available throughout the experience.
Careful attention is given to planning each trip so you have enough time in the water without feeling rushed. The private setup allows the day to be adjusted slightly based on conditions and group comfort, keeping the experience flexible and relaxed.
Experienced guides are present throughout the journey, offering support in the water and sharing information about the marine environment. The focus is on safety, responsible wildlife viewing, and creating a well-organised day from hotel pickup through to return.
You don’t need to be a strong swimmer, but being comfortable in water is recommended. Life jackets are provided and can be worn throughout the snorkelling sessions for extra support.
Guides stay close during all water activities and can assist if you feel unsure at any point. The focus is on making the experience accessible while keeping safety a priority.
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed as the animals are in their natural environment. However, Marsa Mubarak is one of the most reliable areas in the region for seeing both dugong and sea turtles.
The guide will help you search in known areas where they are often spotted. Even if sightings vary, the coral reef and marine life in the area still offer plenty to observe.
You’ll usually have two main snorkelling sessions during the day, each lasting around an hour depending on conditions. This gives you enough time to explore different areas without rushing.
Between sessions, you’ll have time to rest on the boat and enjoy lunch. The schedule is flexible to suit sea conditions and group comfort.
