Sail a luxury catamaran on Bahía de Banderas with snorkel time, deli lunch and drinks on deck. The pace stays relaxed with attentive crew and smaller groups than typical party boats. Hosts anchor for swim stops when it is calm and keep sailing for seasonal whale or dolphin viewing when conditions allow.
After check-in at Las Palmas in Nuevo Vallarta or Puerto Magico on the naval marina, you board the yacht, receive a safety briefing and sail into the bay with appetizers and drink service beginning on deck. The captain may pause for wildlife when dolphins or seasonal whales appear near the route, then drops anchor at a sheltered cove for guided snorkelling with provided gear.
Paddle boards may open when the water is calm enough for safe entries from the yacht, and the deli lunch continues with open-bar service during the meal stop. Hosts adjust timing around swell and ladder access so you can dry off between snorkel and paddle sessions without feeling rushed on the return leg to your check-in point.
Departures run from Nuevo Vallarta or the Puerto Magico area in Puerto Vallarta, then follow the bay toward southern coves and Majahuitas when sea conditions allow. Rocky headlands and sandy pockets create varied snorkel terrain, while the deck offers shade and seating between water sessions.
You see the Sierra Madre skyline and hotel coast from open water as the crew picks anchorages with manageable swell for snorkel entries. The luxury catamaran layout keeps groups spread out compared with high-capacity tourist boats on the same bay.
Minimum age is ten years, and no prior snorkelling experience is required if you plan to enter the water. You should swim comfortably with snorkel gear or stay on deck if you prefer not to snorkel, and moderate fitness is enough for ladder entries from the yacht.
We recommend a comfortable level of general fitness for a half-day on deck and in the water. Bring swimwear, towel, reef-safe sunscreen and a light cover-up for wind, plus cash in pesos if a port fee applies at check-in.
Yacht days lean on veteran boat teams that have sailed Bahía de Banderas for twenty-plus seasons, with PADI five-star operations background showing in how snorkel gear is laid out and how hosts time lunch around calm coves. You get attentive service without a crowded party-boat feel.
Crew know when to anchor for swim stops and when to keep sailing for responsible wildlife viewing in winter months. Bilingual hosts explain snorkel basics for beginners and keep confident swimmers oriented to the best spots near the anchor line.
Check in at Las Palmas 39 in Nuevo Vallarta or Puerto Magico at H.
Escuela Naval Militar as listed for this departure.
Swimwear, towel, reef-safe sunscreen, light cover-up and cash for fees.
Guests aged ten and older are welcome when accompanied by a responsible adult where required. You should be comfortable on a moving catamaran, spending several hours in the sun, and optionally entering the water for a guided snorkel.
We recommend a comfortable level of general health. Mixed ages share the same deck, and crew explain which segments you can sit out if someone prefers to stay dry at the cove.
Check in at 39 Las Palmas in Nuevo Vallarta, or at Puerto Magico on the naval marina when staff send you to that pier. Bring photo ID so the host can confirm which boarding point applies to your sailing.
Allow extra time for marina parking and harbour security. The yacht leaves on a published window, and late arrivals can miss the safety briefing on deck.
Make your own way to the Nuevo Vallarta office or Puerto Magico pier. Hotel collection is not part of this yacht day unless staff confirm a pickup for your hotel that morning.
Transport to and from the meeting point is your responsibility. A taxi to Las Palmas is usually faster than parking through the five-hour sail and return.
A deli-style lunch and an open bar run on board during the sail. Appetizers start after the safety briefing, and the crew keep drinks moving while you cruise toward the snorkel cove.
If you have allergies, tell the host at check-in so the galley can steer you toward suitable plates. Bring a refillable bottle as well, because sun on the trampoline dries you out faster than you expect.
No. Crew issue masks, snorkels and vests, then brief entries at a sheltered cove such as the Majahuitas area when the captain chooses a calm stop. Guides stay in the water with first-timers.
Paddle boards may open near the yacht if the sea is flat. You can skip both the snorkel and the boards and stay on deck with lunch and wildlife watching.
Plan about five hours from check-in through the return to the marina. Wildlife pauses, snorkel time and lunch on deck sit inside that window rather than after it.
The captain may linger at a cove or keep sailing if dolphins or seasonal whales appear. You still return to the same boarding point at the end of the afternoon.
A port fee in Mexican pesos is often collected at check-in. Keep cash for the desk because that harbour charge sits outside the online fare.
Photos, souvenirs and crew gratuities are extra. Ask the host for the peso amount before you walk down the pontoon.
The captain needs a sheltered anchorage for safe snorkelling. If the bay is too lively, the crew keep the yacht sailing, hold lunch on deck, and skip or shorten the water stop.
Wildlife watching from the trampoline still runs when animals appear. Ask at check-in if overnight wind has built so you know whether a swim is likely.
Swimwear under a cover-up, a hat and reef-safe sunscreen suit this deck day. Soft-soled shoes or bare feet work on the trampoline, and a light layer helps if you stay outside for sunset colour on later sailings.
Bring a towel and dry clothes for the marina return. Leave hard suitcases at the hotel; a small dry bag is enough for phones and sunscreen.
Friends booking together usually share the same catamaran. Groups of around fifteen can often travel on one departure when capacity allows, and the host seats you so conversation stays easy during lunch.
If you are celebrating something private, say so at check-in. The crew can hold a quieter corner of the trampoline when the passenger mix allows.

About the centre
Puerto Vallarta
For more than twenty years, teams on the Bahía de Banderas have been running boat days, jungle routes, and ocean activities for visitors who want more than a beach afternoon. Trips leave from the Puerto Vallarta area toward islands, hidden coves, and forest canopy lines, with bilingual guides handling safety briefings and the pace of the day.
You'll find PADI dive instructors, sailing crews, and adventure guides under one roof, which makes it easier to mix snorkelling mornings with ATV or zipline afternoons without juggling separate operators. Equipment checks, transport to launch points, and meal stops on longer tours are organised as part of the experience rather than left for you to arrange alone.
